To expand on Gustavo/Arsenal: feeling in Munich is that he's off but earlier this evening, Rummenigge said LG hadn't decided yet

But it's only a question of him agreeing personal terms - valuation not an issue.

His movement in general is pretty shitty, I think.

Poldi loves to have the ball at his feet. He hates running without the ball. His ability to play 1-2's is what redeems in the final third. But he wants to play 1-2's 60 yards from goal like a moron. He needs to make more forward runs.

Yeah it wasn't really friendly. Some pretty hard challenges on both ends. Man City will have trouble if they play a high line against good teams.

Really impressed with Walcott. He once had a really awful touch, but his form the last three seasons has been very good and he's only 24. He was involved in every goal and is such a threat with the ball at his feet.

I really think that this is our best shot at silverware in quite sometime. The team looks focused and ready to play.

navas with a couple of shameful exhibition dives. damn.

I agree. Walcott looked very good. getting into dangerous positions isn't his problem. now that his touch, finishing, and crossing has improved so much, he's a really dangerous player.

couldn't glean much from this performance, but Perez looks very skilled. composed on the ball. hope we sign him.

rambo looks fricking awesome. after the opposite seemed to be the case a few years back, his rise may relegate Jack to the bench much more. maybe we should have a discussion about Jack and what his best position is. to me, he just isn't creative enough to play the no 10. he also hasn't been as impressive (since two years ago) as Rambo is now in the double pivot. with Goose coming in, it will be interesting to see our midfield combos. he + rambo/jack should be very good going forward. he + arteta would be interesting too this year, though less burst from the MF. wonder how much we'd see that.

I think the season Cesc left Wenger planned on playing the 4-1-4-1 with Jack and Rambo in front of Song. All that went to shite when Jack got hurt, but if we get Gustavo we could go back to that. Would free both to go forward and combine.

We have to remember Jack was out 17 months with a very sensitive ankle injury. He has only been back for less than a year. We will know much more after this year if Jack stays healthy. I think he can play in the hole but he releases his final passes a second too late, though Rambo is guilty of this too.

This is literally the most MF depth we've ever had. We have to win something this year for the sake of confidence.

Friend of OBUDan,

You said you just got your away kit in.

I'm thinking about getting one as well, but am worried how it might fit without really being able to try it on first. I generally wear large shirts, but sometimes need mediums depending on how they're made. For instance, a number of the dri-fit LSU t-shirts I have that are made by Nike are in medium.

How does yours fit relative to the types of shirts you usually purchase?

Also, what's the best place to order from? Should I just get one off of the Arsenal website?

Thanks.

I know this isn't directed at me but I got my away jersey in medium and I love the fit.

Depending on where you live you can find a soccer shop locally that probably carries the shirt where you can try it on. Then you can buy it there or order it from arsenalstoreusa or world soccer shop.

I'd echo crazy. I generally wear large but nike dri-fit stuff is huge. if you wear medium in Nike drifit t-shirts and polos, definitely get a medium. I have a large home jersey and its a little too big for my liking (though it cost enough that I wear it ). I'd recommend medium, but like crazy said, if a niketown or some soccer apparel store is close, you could try it on.

as for location, my home kit came from arsenal store usa and my away from worldsoccershop (bought it on the recent 20% off sale). you might compare prices. the latter will occasionally run deals but after the recent sale I wouldn't think there'd be a significant one until black Friday. the former never runs sales that I've seen.

if we had a striker like Suarez, I think I'd be more intrigued by that formation. I'm also not sure if we would make that move this year because arteta has been too good to drop and is pretty much our captain. It would be nice to free him for some more creative duties though...
