I am too. I'm way unrealistically optimistic for his future.

That was sick.

i just hope he can turn into a rosicky-type contributor for us. 10-20ish starts a year.

I get such a hard on watching it... and then I get sad that he's struggled with injuries so much.

Well according to Arsene, Rosicky has an ankle injury and tests are being done. He probably won't play tomorrow. It's comical at this point.

if rosicky's out, i'd really like to see

szcz
baccy-per-kos-gibbs
arteta-flamini
ox-santi-gnabry
sanogo

chelsea generally plays more attacking at home and that would be a better defensive lineup, as well as a more potent counterattacking lineup, than poldi or giroud starting.

Podilski is actual pretty decent on the counter. I'd probably start him over Gnabry, although Gnabry would definitely be my first attacking player off the bench.

And Giroud has been awful against good teams but great coming off the bench so I love that selection. Don't think it'll happen though

poldi can be pretty good on the counter, true, but gnabry is faster and better defensively. pace will be at a premium tomorrow. also, gnabry and ox can switch sides which it useful tactically.

I'd rather Ox in the middle, Serge and Podolski out wide. More speed and offense. I've never liked Farteta.

I think he means the Flamini Arteta combo. Sexy pic, though.

i don't love it, but it can serve a purpose, particularly how it's been used recently with arteta probing forward and flamini staying back. it was pretty key in our Liverpool FA Cup win. we're gonna need midfield help on Hazard. i worry about ox's defensive positioning a little bit, though i certainly wouldn't mind him at CM. as good as he's been overall, he's generally been outstanding in advanced roles and meh in deeper positions.

I love having Ox at CM to get the ball and burst out of our zone. The way he did it in the first half against Bayern was our only safety valve.

Of course he was (facepalm). Maybe I subconsciously just wanted to see that pic again.

Can they hypnotize/trick Arteta into thinking he's at Goodison tomorrow? Maybe he'll play with more fire.

this is partly why I wanted arteta-flamini. we've done crazy things tactically against big squads.

Bingo, definitely needed that pairing today. Today's squad, especially the way Ox has been giving it away recently is prone to the counter. What happened? 3 counters in 15 minutes. Very poor tactical decisions on Arsene's part but hindsight is always 20/20.

Welp, that's 4. I'm too distraught to go back to sleep unfortunately.
