Isn't TV5 out until the Southampton game?
that might be right. Ajayi has been training with the first team. he's wildly inconsistent at the youth level though, despite having all the tools. would be shocked if he got any PT.

I can't see any of this young group, Yennaris, Aneke, Afobe, Eisfield, and Miquel staying. It's disappointing, considering how promising Aneke and Afobe were at 16, but something just didn't click. I think those two in particular can be PL level players, in two or three years time, but they aren't good enough for what we need. I'm disappointed Frimpong is probably leaving, but he's a Makelele type DM with no passing range.
agreed. eisfeld is 21. geez. we need to ship him, and those others you mentioned, out. there's a logjam with them and our next crop of talent.

Zelalem, Hayden, Crowley, and maybe Akpom look like the next crop. If we could get two out of those four to be first teamers, I would be ecstatic.
i'd put Olsson in this category (younger than Hayden), Ainsley Maitland-Niles (highly rated winger who is 16, i believe), Jon Toral and Hector Bellerin. I think there's a decent chance 3 of those i listed stick around at Arsenal.

Uhh, he can't be any taller than Santi can he? He's not even 17 yet, so I think he's at least two years away from a first team debut, longer if he has too slight a frame. Both Zelalem and Crowley need to hit the gym hard.
i think he'll make his first team debut in the COC next season, but yeah, he's a year or two off from any sort of fringe first-team status due to his size.

Bellerin looks really good. I forgot about him and Toral. I just don't know about Olsson. He's good on the ball, and he knows it, but I think that can pose a problem because young players have the tendency to dawdle on the ball. I wish he would go out on loan. Toral needs a loan spell as well if he can't make the first team by next year.

i'm surprised Bellerin hasn't gotten more of a chance. he lacks the athleticism of Jenks, but he's definitely better technically. i think he could be a really good player somewhere, but probably in la liga.

I hope our fellow Gooner Thenry is doing okay over in the Ukraine.

I just made a spreadsheet to compare the strength of Arsenal's remaining schedule versus the remaining schedules of Man City and Chelsea. I ranked them by summing up the opponent's earned points to date.
Chelsea has the "easiest" with their remaining opponents totaling 470 points.
City are next with 485 points.
And Arsenal have the "hardest" with our upcoming opponents having earned 498 points to date.
Is there any flaws I overlooked?
Regardless ... we gonna run the table!

City have struggled on the road and have these marquee matches on the road remaining:
Tottenham, Man United (pot. with Mata), Arsenal, Liverpool, Everton.
Only time will tell guys.

Guessing Vermaelen and Podolski might get a start tomorrow.

Probably not true, but i'll post it anyway

Transfer Sources ?@TransferSources 24m BREAKING: Arsenal has agreed a fee with Schalke for the transfer of Draxler. Personal terms are being discussed currently. [TuttoMercato]

Interesting considering Arsene Wenger said that any transfers this window are unlikely. Lets not keep our hopes high on this, until its official.
Posted on 1/23/14 at 3:20 pm to Bwing4heisman
Still probably not true, but it's possible Wenger is looking around and seeing Chelsea hijack the Tottenham and pool moves for Willian and Salah respectively, his own bid for Higuain be semi-hijacked, and decided to play things close to the vest.

yeah, i don't think that's true, but i wouldn't be surprised if we're hard at work trying to make it happen. don't think it's likely, but certainly possible.
Jan Åge Fjørtoft says Draxler wants to go and Schalke will sell at the right price. He seems to think Wenger's statements are negotiating tactics (very possible).

Is our match televised tomorrow, even on a replay/tape delay? If so can someone fill me in on the time and channel?

This Draxler talk is making my head spin. As if it needed any more help than normal.

As much as I love the thought of new signings ... the transfer windows give me anxiety and stress

I'm sure schalke wants more than the summer release fee to sell him. I'm also sure we don't want to pay more than that. might be worth a few extra quid to lock him up before a summer auction. not to mention to add his talents to our late title push.
