Fair result today between two good teams.
Agreed.
3 would've been great, but after the way Everton played a point a piece seemed very appropriate.
Knowing that we were just inches away from a last second win does rustle my jimmies a tad.

Howard made a few big saves. That was the real difference in the match.

I thought we were going to get our first on that sequence where he came out of goal for a bit though.
He was very good overall.

Anybody want to guess where we were after 15 games last season? That's right ...
1. Manchester United, 36
2. Manchester City, 33
3. Chelsea, 26
4. Tottenham, 26
10. Arsenal, 21
Just shows how much difference a year can make. Even with a bit of a disappointing result today with the draw knowing we could have been 7 points clear, I never would have thought we would be 5 points clear at the top at this stage! We are on 35 points after 15 games, which is just 1 point off United's pace in their title winning season a year ago when they totaled 89 points for the year.
We might be the only team in the Premier League that can go to Manchester City and get a result, given the attacking style we play, the defensive form we have at the moment, and our ability to perform away from home. That's what I'm hoping for anyway. Should be a very wide open game.
These next 2 games could really make our season if the results go the way we hope. I know, understatement of the year!

our 5pt cushion after 15 matches is the biggest since 05/06 champions Chelsea. although that could evaporate quickly...
the ivory coast is putting the full court press on Serge. they're trying to sell him on the World Cup this coming year. his dad is Ivorian. would be interesting. certainly seems German all the way, but WC allure for an 18yo...

Yep. During Mancicni's reign we actually matched up pretty well with City. Should be interesting to see how we do against Pelligrini. The additions of Navas and Negredo are a huge cause for concern.

Stay with Germany Serge. I'd love him to have the summer off.

i think the experience wouldn't be bad for him, and it isn't like he's being overused.

True. He isn't ready for that stage in my opinion. But, patience isn't really a virtue in the soccer world.

pretty interested to see what kind of lineup we throw out vs. Napoli. Wenger hasn't been particularly good at rotating and this match is important. i'd hope for something like:
Szcz
Jenks-Per-TV5-Monreal
Flamini-Jack
Theo-Santi-Rosicky
Bendtner
(or Theo up top and Gnabry on the right)
but i think we will play with a stronger side.
I just want us to field our best XI against Man City, which it seems like we should be able to do if Baccy is back.

I just can't see us getting run off the pitch at Napoli. Stranger things have happened. We need to get to the knockouts or a death spiral could happen. We have seen it happen too many times.

me neither. but we need a draw at least so that we can win the group. that's of the utmost importance.

Welcome back Poldi...

he'd be a good sub to have. he's a fairly one dimensional player, but i think he will score quite a few goals this season with ozil out there.

He scored 16 and had 10 assists. That is a damn good season.
