Also more rumors of us spending 40m on a german international.. no mention of who.

I have seen some Ozil rumors.

ETA: LINK ]From today's Daily Mail - "Arsenal want to spend their entire summer transfer budget on the Real Madrid trio of 25-year-old striker Karim Benzema, playmaker Mesut Ozil, 24, and 25-year-old winger Angel Di Maria."

I have called that paper a "Rag" before, but I really want to believe that this is true. They are saying £70m for all three.

So at what point is it acceptable to bring up our Twitter wager? And what do I win?

haha, there wasn't a wager was there? I thought I just favorited it to pull it out later and say "I TOLD YOU SO!"

I think the gist of my point that you were mocking, that we have a shite ton of cash to spend and are willing to do so, was at least proven by our Suarez bid. however the prediction itself is looking less and less likely.

I will accept any punishment you wish to dole out. preferably death

I've overheard a lot of arsenal jokes and frustrations on the underground this week

Keeping Bendtner is almost like a new signing, so there is that to look forward to.

Damn, didn't even know you tweeted that. Good to know we are on the same wavelength this morning. We have tried to inadvertently steal each others thunder multiple times now haha

ok so let's go ahead and do the best XI of the NLD. for some reason, when papers have done this the past couple of years, they've had a lot more players than we have. that really isn't the case this year. here's mine (using what I think will be the lineups)

GK: lloris

RB: Sagna (he's back to his old form this season, though it's probably a toss up between the two)

CBs: Kos and Vertonghen (unless JV plays left back, in which case Per is better than Dawson or Kaboul)

LB: Gibbs, unless JV is LB

CMs: Rambo and Paulinho

CAM: Rosicky is better than Holtby or Gylfi atm. could be interesting if Paulinho slides in here and Sandro returns. I'm assuming Santi is going to play LW or else he's definitely the best CAM.

RW: Theo

LW: Santi

ST: Soldado

Worst part about poldi being injured is relegating santI to the wings

I'd actually be ok with starting gibbs as a LM and santi in the middle..

meant to mention this after the match Tuesday, but did you guys realize Gibbs was playing DM in the second half? found that pretty surprising. he didn't do half bad. he's not any less one footed than Jack

i'd probably rather have Rosicky on the pitch than Gibbs at LW (especially since we'll need his pace against Townsend and Monreal is rusty)

You're in London? So you can get me an autographed Beowulf shirt for my prize? If not, go to one of the stands and buy me the cheapest Arsenal labelled item you can find. Then throw it in the Thames and consider your debt paid

Or rock a LFC Suarez avi for a month

This is so fricking dumb. All of them have said they want to stay at Madrid, and none of them really fill our immediate need of CB/DM support.

Well we do need depth all around though. When vermaelen comes back we actually have pretty decent cover at CB with him and Sagna. DM we at least go two deep with Ramsay and arteta once he's back. Or at least the equivalent of a DM in our formation/style.

Point is we happen to have injuries at CB and DM right now so they seem really thin. But if giroud went down we'd need a striker in the worst way. So any quality depth at all, at any position would be a good thing

i bought myself an Invincibles coffee mug. i don't want to throw it away... :(

i don't show avis, so that wouldn't bother me at all

while i'd be slightly disappointed no young stud CB or DM was bought, if we got those three (ABSOLUTELY NOT HAPPENING) i'd lose my shite.

the frick? I just saw Tottenham is signing Christian Eriksen too.

How can Spurs sign so many players, and we've got no depth?

yeah. so many bigger clubs passed on him, most recently Dortmund. interested to see what he does. apparent bVb was concerned about his ability to handle a faster, more physical league.
