A considerable amount of time compared to the length of his senior career. Don't get me wrong, I'm not hating on Wilshere. I just wouldn't be surprised if it was another 12 months before he finds that kind of form again.

Sure seems like Cazorla is going to be the latest Silva/Mata

I watched Villarreal quite a lot when he played there. Last summer, I would have been tempted to take him over Silva or Mata (not considering the age difference).

From how he was deployed at Villarreal, he was more comfortable deeper in midfield as, even though he's pint-sized, he's not quite a fey as either Silva or Mata and seemed less bothered by physical defensive mids. He played most often in the advanced left midfield in their 4-2-2-2 but also played on the right at times. However, he even was deployed as more of a DLP at times as well. For Villarreal, his forte was creating from deeper positions in their lightning counter attacks and following up with fantastic runs.

My two cents is that Little Santi's problem beating some of these players for time on the Spanish national team is that he's more at his best in a direct (counter) attacking style than simply camped out in tight spaces in the final third though his control is certainly good enough to play that way as well.

Sounds like a perfect match for the EPL.

Coming down to the wire on RvP. Rumor is that Wenger and Sir Alex talked trying to work out a deal. Apparently we've held at our 30mil figure. Or 20mil with add-ons. If we can get that, take it and reinvest. 30mil pounds would be enough to trigger Llorente's release clause. Not sure who we'd have in mind though...

The interesting question if he doesn't get sold is, does he sign an extension? With his injury record and our additions, more likely than not he won't have the season he did last year. And he'll be 30 at the start of next season. Would he take the guaranteed money from us or risk making a move after the season?

Tell me about these "add-ons".

I'd imagine they'd be performance or results based. If he scores X goals, ManU wins Y, etc.

Ah. I didn't know if you may have been referring to a United player in the deal.

Please don't sell him to Manchester United. RVP is one of the most well-rounded forwards in the world. Pair him with Rooney and the football community will weep for years to come.

I feel like we're doing about all we can to prevent it by forcing them to pay that price...

Am I allowed to hope that we sell him to ManU and then he goes back to being super injured RVP immediately?

Word this morning seems to be along the same lines as last night. ManU will come in with an improved offer, we'll likely sell.

Respected Spanish journo Guillem Balague says 'Pool very much in the Sahin race.

Arsene says no contact has been made over Song.

Walcott and Ox both pulled out of tomorrow's England friendly vs. Italy. Hopefully it was just precautionary and they'll be ready on Saturday.
