Im not surprised at all. There was no way Wenger was letting RVP go unless someone showed him the money, especially from a hated league rival. I was thinking he would get at least 25 mill or would keep him and play him and chase some trophies this year. Wenger hasn't much time left and you can tell by the change in his approach lately. Buying players in their prime (25-28 years old) instead of spending on youngsters with potential. That and the fact that we are spending more aggressively in the market and we are spending without selling first, our old tatic.
I really think the next couple years Wenger is going all out for success. He doesn't want to end his managerial career at Arsenal on low. Wenger talks a lot about his legacy and he doesn't want to bow out on a sour note.

Yep. That is tremendous value given his situation. United are taking a big risk that may end off working in the end. But let's hope Arsenal gets their cash and then Frimpong breaks his leg

When you have a season like we had last year, you start taking these kind of risks.
If we could get RVP and possibly swing a deal for a defensive mid, I'd be thrilled.

I really hope we use the money to buy another creative player. Also I hope we get rid of Squillaci, Chamakh, and Park. And Bendnter as well. If Song wants to go to Barca, ship him there (for nothing less than 20M) and let him sit on the bench. The squad needs to be streamlined with players who can contribute over the course of the season.

Also you had a really pedestrian team. Kagawa and RvP should make it more exciting.
