Pep is going to replace everybody this off-season. Will be interested in who he buys.

Well now that we're in the green financially we likely won't see any kind of punishment. They even refunded 40 mil from the previous penalties earlier this year.

Who knows though, I have no clue how it works anymore since it seems they relaxed the shite completely.

ETA: And if the Under Armour kit deal is true, it will be massive (compared to what we have now), which will be a huge influx of cash since our current Nike deal is such shite.

It's so amazing what a functional system can do for a team.

I still think Ancellotti's Chelsea 2009 was better going forward and Mourinho's 2004 team was better defensively, Conte's 2017 team might be better overall than both. Once they switched to a back three, it never seemed like the game was difficult to them.

Not that likely. We've been good the last couple seasons (as has been mentioned, we got a refund) so we unless we go on another spree next season we should be fine. It isn't that crazy to think Nasri, Mangala, Hart, Bony, Nolito, and one of the Ferns (I'm sure I'm forgetting someone else) could pull 50-million.

We aren't going to break the transfer record for a hashtag either, so that helps.

How many did City win?

I'd expect the breakdown to look like this:

Nasri - 20 mil (euros) is supposedly the final fee Sevilla are supposed to pay.

Mangala - 12ish mil.....the loan deal was supposed to be 15 mil but Valencia allegedly aren't wanting to pay that much.

Hart - No fricking clue, but not much

Bony - 10-12 mil

Nolito - 5-10ish mil....Atletico are supposedly enquiring about him.

Along w/ Kyle Walker, City are also the odds on favorites to land Bernardo Silva. Not sure why...he's a fantastic young player, but I'm not sure where he would fit in alongside Fernandinho/Gundogan/KDB and David Silva.

£250 million would put you guys back in the red for a season

Your organic revenue is still crap

Well we are cutting huge wages w/ Jesus Navas, Sagna, Clichy, Zabaleta, Willy, Mangala, Nasri and Hart likely going off the books.

I'm not saying the club is printing money, but they are becoming much more responsible financially. As much as that may trigger you, it's a fact.

Key part. The club has made profits in compliance with FFP for the previous two seasons, and project to again this year. We can afford a non-compliant season. But again, we won't net 250. The wage bill is dropping and we'll make a decent amount selling this season. It won't be a profit at the end of the window, but it will be enough to buy cover a couple buys. I still don't see us spending 250-million regardless.

Hell, you said yourself prior to this past season (and the one before that) that City had an aging squad with a ton to replace. All things considered (new coach/system in an old squad) I'm surprised we did as well as we did. United won the only trophy both clubs were in for, sure, but we did better in the league. There were growing pains for sure, but we put in some absolutely brilliant matches as well. The entire point of bringing in Pep was that he would help transition the club into a "big club". There's a reason we call it the Pep Project and not the Pep "win everything year 1" season.

Absolutely. We are getting to a point where we don't have to overpay like crazy to attract talent. We have amazing facilities, constant European football, a premier coach, and we're consistently competitive in the league. I honestly can't think of anything ownership hasn't done to make this thing work. The only thing we lack is history and we give players a great chance to have a chance at making that happen.

That's exactly why Pep wanted to go to City. If he manages to win Europe then he'll literally be a club great and legend until the end of time. Not saying that will happen, but we certainly have a chance.

We've already proven to be the most consistent team in the league qualifying for the competition the last 7 years, something no other club can claim.

And I get why this rustles people. City are literally being turned into a European power through an influx of owner money. People said it wouldn't work, but Mansour has been consistent w/ what he said when he purchased the club. It will only continue to grow across the world as a brand and club. Not saying we'll ever be Real Madrid, Bayern, Barca or hell, even United. But the opportunity to join that elite club is there.

Sums it up nicely. It is silly to say City will ever be in the same arena as those clubs, but Mansour and Co. have put down a damn solid foundation. Everything they have done has flown in the face of the "rich takeover" cliche. They aren't just buying players. They have developed an amazing academy and youth setup. They're building global partnerships. They marketing is amazing. The fan interaction is the best in the league by a country mile. They have done damn near everything right. The future is blindingly bright.

FFP thankfully exists on paper only at this point (at least for the major clubs)

Eh in 30 years who knows, anything is possible.

Of course taking the attitude that winning trophies don't matter won't help
