My love/hate relationship with Landon Donovan aside, I think he'll be starting in Brazil. Jurgen, in my opinion, shares my feeling that Donovan needs to remember that he's going to have to earn that spot instead of just getting in on the love affair America has with him. He's a good player with tons of World Cup experience, but he needs to earn the spot on the field.
No coach is going to be easy on a guy who missed time playing to go trek in Africa. It shows a struggle in commitment to the game. I think he'll be there simply because he's an asset to the team. If he has a decent camp, he starts.

Yet they forget his game against Scotland (in 2012 I think) with a hat trick and an assist. Also, he was easily our best player in the Gold Cup in 2013. I need to look at who we held out of that tournament because I want to see who Donovan outplayed on our side. He is a top 2 player for the US. He is still the guy that other teams are afraid of.
