I don't think much of Torres' hold up play mainly cause he's not as physical as Jozy. I would say their passing is about even though.

Altidore and Fernando Torres,God knows I love them both, but damn do they frustrate the hell out of me. It's not all their fault, I know that.

Today was the first time I've seen Jozy play "physically" in a year. He hides when playing for Sunderland. Whether that's due to confidence or what, I don't know, but it's the truth.

I would argue turkey is better than the US, has made it further in the world cup than us, sans 1930, has a bad arse league. We wouldnt qualify every year if we had to go through Europe, and prob not even qualify as much as turkey has. I dont think Jozy is that great, but i dont understand the accept mediocrity statement. Are we supposed to just go buy a striker? Hes the best we have.

I watched a few Sunderland games this year and it didn't seem like he was hiding much. He'd track back for the ball then redistribute it. On a few occasions, he would put himself in a good position to score and just wouldn't get it.

If you don't think German, Portguese, and Ghanian defender aren't looking at Jozy today and thinking, "This guy is strong, fast, and has good movement," then you're on drugs. Hell, Mertesacker already knows; he's seen it first hand. As did any other defender who played Sunderland at the end of the season when Jozy was doing typical Jozy stuff.

Mert saw first hand as Jozy bulldozed past Sagna, an experienced and physical RB, and scored. Too bad the goal was called back. Well, actually not since I'm an Arsenal fan, but I felt bad for Jozy since it should have counted.

You could argue that Turkey could have easily had another goal or 2 somewhere.
BUT, almost doesn't count and I'm not a woulda, coulda, shoulda, kinda guy. Turkey just couldn't finish today and gave us ample opportunities to score.
