My son’s team is competing in the state semi/finals this weekend.

Tight final 4 grouping. Talent wise, all the teams are within a goal from each other IMO.

My son is the goalkeeper for his team.

Thoughts and prayers are appreciated.

Goalies are very seldomly the heroes, and very often the misdirected blame of losses. God speed

Looks like the players may need pirogues if we’re going to see any games today.

ETA: Semis moved to tomorrow, finals to next Sunday. Teams advancing will be playing in Lafayette three weekends in a row, which is great if you live in Lafayette.

Yea we are about 2 hours out. Nothing they can do about it with this weather, but it has put a damper on the experience.

My son’s team eked it out 1-0. Tough matchup next weekend for the championship.

Is this your son? Just eeked out a 1-0 and was phenomenal.

But in all seriousness. Get him to watch David Raya.

Arsenal put out some goal keeper training videos and it's crazy. Kids today are lucky they can actually see the greats. When I was just starting out a dad that never played was teaching us and there was no one to really watch unless you found someone who had VHS tapes of games.

I still remember trying to get my parents to ppv some of the Euros because that stuff just wasn't on tv.

My son’s team got nipped at the end of the final, but they won it last year and got to experience the regional. Your boys will have a blast, good luck to them.

Thank you man. They lost in 2-1 in PKs (it was kind of nutty) in last year’s finals, so this meant a lot to the boys.

That said, based on the traffic on TeamSnap, I think the moms are more excited about the trip than the boys.
