Advice getting Tickets for Dortmund Match

Going to Germany in March, and looking to get tickets for BvB v Leipzig. Anyone have experience getting tickets for Bundesliga? Are secondary markets good to use there, or do you need to get membership and go through the club? I've read the latter is probably the way to go for England, but hope it's a little different.

Any tips/advice is appreciated!

nope its not different, the secondary market sucks in Europe and is insanely inflated prices/shady fake tickets.

Its this way bc ticket prices are done to protect the fans and keep prices down.

BVB tickets can be hard bc its always sold out, if you want get it through the club just go to the game and try and get extras off someone outside the ground or in a bar pre match. Sometimes you can get lucky and get tickets at the window.

This is what i hear often, but if i'm going to Europe, i'm not there forever. I want to go to a certain game, and i'm willing to pay whatever to go to it. Yet even in this scenario, it's difficult to secure a ticket. I do'nt want to leave it up to chance and hope i get it on gameday.

Yeah I get what they are trying to do to not gouge the prices which is cool, but I'd be going to Dortmund just for the game so would like to have those in hand before making plans to head there. Just odd that they even allow StubHub and such to post those tickets if dupes are such a problem.

You can try emailing the club and play up the “I’m a dumb American but I love Dortmund how do I come watch a game” angle. I did this with a club in the Netherlands to great effect.

Don't say anything negative about Gio. His mother will find you.

The stub hub resell often requires you to still be a club member so they can be transferred to your season ticket card

Not sure about if that’s the case with Dortmund

Season tickets or members don’t get physical tickets for every match. They get a card that it’s loaded on.

I think I only got a physical ticket maybe 10 times in the 5 years I was regularly going to United and Kaiserslautern matches

I'm assuming by member you mean paid member? I joined on their site so I could see the ticket market, but did go for the full paid membership.
