Went to the ATL vs BHM pre-season game, but only stayed for the first one. It was fun. BHM didn't look too bad at all, which means either ATL is a dumpster fire or BHM is gonna have a good run this season.

You can help me out here. This is the team formerly known as the rail hawks.
They used to be in the second tier? Right? Why the drop?

I think the costs of COVID played a role, but they claim it's in order to provide more opportunities to their academy players.

Got it.
I’ve been to some Railhawks games in my day. Those games got rowdy
The Triangle is a better soccer area than CLT

Forgot the most important tournament: The Leagues Cup. OCSC about to wreck some Liga MX teams.

Have they set a date yet? I know they named the MLS teams, but the Liga MX teams are still up in the air.

Not that I've seen, think it's a few more weeks for the Liga MX sides to be decided.

He’s actually not a bad manager

He was fired from the England women’s team over bullshite

Watching him coach in Spanish and back to his Manc accent is pretty funny to watch

As part of its continuing efforts as a leader in player safety, U.S. Soccer will implement concussion substitutions in 2021. The new rule allows teams to make two concussion substitutes to replace players with head injuries, regardless of the number of substitutions already used.

quote:

In December, the IFAB (International Football Association Board) approved trials for concussion substitutions to begin this year. The rule is designed so that a player suspected to suffer a concussion is permanently withdrawn for their protection, but the player’s team doesn’t suffer a disadvantage. U.S. Soccer and all U.S. professional leagues have applied to the IFAB and FIFA for permission to participate in these trials.
