Leeds reportedly pushing hard to secure the signing of a new midfielder 'this week' - with Mirror's David Anderson confirming Marcelo Bielsa's admiration for OM's Boubacar Kamara. Certainly not saying he's gonna be the one to sign, though. Latest here:

Aaronson and Kamara?

Kamara is closer to a DM right, and slot Aaronson in at 10?

Think Kamara is a good old fashioned box to box midfielder

If it’s going to happen with Aaronson it should be in the next couple of days. His team doesn’t return to league and UCL play until February and he should be reporting to USA camp this weekend since qualifiers crank back up next week.

Hay reporting that a new deal with Raphinha could be done by end of Jan as well.

Which would be awesome

If they could keep those two for one more year, add some midfield pieces, and stay somewhat healthy it would be fun to see how far they could move up the table next season. By my count the record is 5-7-2 against the non super 6 clubs even with all the bullshite injury/Covid luck so far.

Really hoping we can pull Aaronson, enjoy watching him for the USMNT!

Surprised to hear Raph potentially resigning, assumed he’d be gone. Still haven’t figured out how the transfer window works, or the the loan process —- when/if he does go hope it’s with Liverpool. If there’s a “second” team that I pull for, it’s definitely them.

Summer window officially is july 1-around September 1, though a lot of deals get done in june. They’re just not “official” until july

Winter is January 1-February 1 or thereabouts.

Loans are for young players to get experience usually in the lower leagues (see Drameh) or players who don’t get as much game time (Helder Costa)

Yep

No game for 18 days. At least that’s plenty of time for hopefully Bamford to come back. Miss him so much in games like that

Bielsa has doubts about whether Bamford will be ready immediately on the other side of the break that's coming up. "A player who's gone so long without playing it opens up a question mark about how long he needs to be able to maintain regularity."
