Pity Martinez has been involved in 2 out of 3 of our real chances in this match.

Pity Martinez is removed.

An extremely valuable 3 points.

But, honestly, not encouraging... I can't think of a thing in that game outside of the one goal to build on. Colorado threatened our goal more than we threatened theirs.

He should start on the LW, Gressel on the RE, Barco as the 10, and Pity on the bench.

We've never been good against teams that parked the bus. Colorado was playing way more defensively than they normally do. They were playing with a back 5 and had 4 midfielders sitting right in front of them.

Did some digging on Colorado. That was by far the most defensive line up they've put on the field this year. They ran out a flat 5-man back line with 2 LBs, 1 CB, and 2 RBs. They put a DM and a CB right in front of them. They had 1 striker up top, another striker at LW, and a LW at RW. The LW and RW dropped back even with the DMs when we had the ball, creating a 4-man line that sat 5-10 yards in front of the 5-man back line. I think they usually kept Kamara high up so that we had to keep 2 defenders back.

Looks like SKC will be extremely shorthanded this weekend. They had to cancel training because of lack of healthy players

So with all these KC players out FdB has no reason not to have AU scoring multiple goals?

He can't put it in the back of the net for them.

Niether could Tata but Tata in his first year had them playing better by leaps and bounds than FdB. See my comparison a page or so back. A coach can set them up for success or failure.

Tata also got to hand pick the vast majority of his team and won 3 of his first 10 games (none of those 10 games being against the best team in CONCACAF) and didn't have to worry about so many injuries. The team has actually been playing really the last few weeks. Sucks that we're about to lose Barco.

Actually went back and looked at all of our goals last year. We were getting much better crossing from our outside backs than we have this year (also got a lot of fortunate bounces). Garza is much better in the attack than Shea is, and not having a healthy Escobar has been noticeable. We need to pick up another outside back if everyone plans to be injured most of the year (Bello, Ambrose, Escobar, etc.).

I compared this years early games to year ones early games. You talk of hand picking players. He hand picked himself to try to be the coach of the MLS MVP and a large majority of players that won MLS cup last year. FdB has done something all the other defenses in the MLS couldn't do last year shut down Josef.

Sorry, that's bullshite. Josef has had plenty of chances and has had plenty of other passes to him be just inches or a foot away from creating more chances. And honestly, some keepers have made some really great saves against him this season.

Josef would have just had a chance if Barco made a slightly better pass. Josef could have had an assist if Pity attacked the ball quicker.

Both Josef and Escobar were open for a cross, but Pity just fricked it up again.
