By a large margin as well.
this could be a by-product of inflation in prices for the top level guys. hell even depth players for the top 6 are going for more than a lot of teams entire budget

Liverpool, Arsenal, and Everton sold their best players in that time frame. City and United have just bought and stockpiled.
There is a massive difference between City/United and Liverpool/Arsenal/Everton.
The latter are selling clubs and it’s been proven as recent as last year. City/United do not sell their top players.

Tottenham have now become the first club in Premier League history to make zero signings in a summer transfer window since it was introduced back in 2003
Bold strategy.

Seems a little hyperbolic. City don’t, I’ll give you that. Their owner having his hand in so many baskets impacts that. LFC have sold their best players, Cou and Suarez being the biggest. United did the same when the Spanish giants came calling. Ronaldo and Beckham went south, and De Gea would have. The worm is turning at Anfield, I think this summer is evidence of that, and so does SCH apparently. He is appalled by the money being spent.
You are absolutely right though, city and United have only stockpiled lately without selling key members of the squad. It’s a luxury that I’m glad we’re moving towards. I can only imagine how good we’ll be when we’re only focused on strengthening and not replacing

Spending and net spend are different animals. Liverpool, Arsenal, and Everton sold their best players in that time frame. City and United have just bought and stockpiled. You’ll have a built in excuse this year though, “the team just didn’t want to play for Jose”
Last 5 years excluding this summer window
The difference in net spend the last three windows which I was talking about is actually pretty close
But by all means change the narrative to defend Liverpool
Net spend champs print the shirts

It’s just amusing to me that you bash Liverpool for not winning the league after spending all this money while United don’t win the league after spending all this money. Liverpool’s ambition and trajectory almost seem to offend you. There isn’t a need to deny it. An already very dangerous team just splashed City/United money on getting a lot better. The writing is on the wall and you’re feeling very insecure about it.

You are a grade A dumbass
I have said for years I hope Liverpool spend and even said I'm happy they are. But keep up with the lies
I took a little fun jab at Liverpool and in typical Riseupfromtherubble fashion you act like a giant offended pussy.

It would appear that multiple people in this thread need to calm down.

They’ve done a fine job at securing second rate trophies. Can’t deny that, we’ve fallen short in 3 straight finals. My hope is that with Liverpool seeming to adopt the transfer strategy that united and City have been using for years, we’ll get over that hump. Our ceiling seems to be higher than our recent past- which was “almost good enough.” We can argue net spend and speak as if all competitions are equal, that’s fine and well. Klopp would be the first to tell you he’s failed at finishing the task so far. I think that’s why he’s addressed the issue, not sure he’s content with “making” the Champions league final. I’m excited that we’re showing ambition beyond being good enough to reach the final though.

Spurs are the first Premier League team to make no signings since the summer window's introduction in 2003.

Rumor has it that their new stadium will be sponsored by Chrome... because Tottenham doesn't do Windows.
