but apparently City is going to triple Belgian CB Jason Denayer's wages and they are planning on him being with the first team this season.
I halfway expected Rekik to be the guy this year (out of the 2) but I'm cool with Denayer. I'll lose my shite if they sell Rekik though.

Liverpool are set to agree a £17.8m deal to sign Hoffenheim striker Roberto Firmino, according to reports in Globoesporte.
The Brazilian publication also says the 23-year-old Selecao frontman will put pen to paper on a five-year contract at Anfield this summer.
Wasn't he going to United like a week ago

Aubameyang, Alexis, Theo/Ox front 3 would be so OP on FIFA with all that pace

Thats over paying big time

So Benteke will not sign a new deal

I still prefer him over some of the other options I have seen come up for Arsenal lately, but that does seem a bit steep.
Then again apparently City is willing to pay £50 mil for Sterling so wtf do I know.

Crazyness and desperation
When Depay only cost 25 million.

Midfielder John Obi Mikel wants to leave Chelsea this summer after not featuring enough at Stamford Bridge last season, according to sources at Sky.
However, the Blues are understood to want to keep the Nigeria international in west London, despite interest in the 28-year-old from Al Ain in the UAE.

Manchester United wide man Luis Nani is having talks with Fenerbahce, according to Sky sources.
However, we also understand that as yet, no deal has been agreed between the two clubs and that the Turks are just one of a number of sides said to be interested in the player.

Manchester United met with Sergio Ramos's representative in London two months ago, say AS.
And the Spanish sports daily also report that the centre back has already started to learn English, with United understood to be lining up a €30m bid, as well as goalkeeper David de Gea, for the player, while they are also prepared to increase his salary to €12m-a-year.

Thats not my point. Im talking in terms of talent.
Homegrown should not inflate a player another 20 million anyway ,and usually does not most the time its an extra 5 million or so you see slapped on.
But City are desperate bc mismanagement so Liverpool hold all the cards.

Milan now going after Blaise Matuidi.

I mean Depay is unproven in a big league whatsoever. It would have been extremely dumb to pay more than United did for him. He's just another player who doesn't account for anything special when it comes to the team.
Sterling has been successful in the PL, but had an off year this past year because he was having to do pretty much everything on his own, however, I'm not saying Sterling is a world class player. He could be, but right now I'd say he is anywhere between an average-above average PL player depending on his form.
He also can count towards the home grown player count, which United doesn't have problems with thanks to being successful for so long. City will eventually get to that, but it's a process.
When it comes down to it, Sterling is better than Depay is right now. Depay has never been in an extremely competitive league and therefore only has the wide open Eredivisie to go off of. I mean Altidore was a badass over there lol. Not saying he won't be good, because I think he will be eventually, but it will take him some time.

I've seen a domino scenario where Dortmund sell Aubameyang to Arsenal, Immobile to Napoli, buy Gomez from Fiorentina, and re-sign Gundogan.

It is all a smoke screen for Arsenal to sign Reus....

Sterling without Suarez who is a real world class player has been awful. His touch and finishing is very bad. When you pay 50 million thats paying for world class level players.
United have home grown talent bc of the club's philosophy and youth academy that goes back a long time not bc we were good.
City had a similar philosophy before the take over but were just not as good at it. City's track record with English players since the takeover is embarrassing.

One player scores twice in the World Cup, the other scores vs Lithuania. One player has scored more goals in one season( in a lesser league) than the other has his entire career.

If you don't think a healthy Sturridge would have offered any relief or help to Sterling last year than maybe my respect for your soccer knowledge, which is pretty high TBH, should be rethought.

Once again, Jozy freaking Altidore had as many league goals (39) as Depay did in the Eridivisie in 23 less games. We all know how Altidore turned out when he came back to the PL. You can't compare the Eridvisie and the players coming over to those in who are already here. It's a proven fact that the league in the Netherlands is much more wide open. Depay won't be able to run as free as he did over there. He's a good player, but right now he isn't as good as Sterling is.
