There is no way we pay him that much, if he even ends up playing for us. Bender is probably the better value while having a lot of upside and smaller wage demands.

There's no way that's right

hey, he had a great WC. 520m/year may be worth it.

could possible present some FFP issues though.

Looks like Iago Aspas to Sevilla almost done. I'd hope Ian Ayre is in their ear to try and get a deal for Moreno done while we're at it.

The Daily Express reports that Liverpool are poised to launch a £45million move for Marco Reus after his move from Borussia Dortmund to Barcelona did not materialise with the Catalan giants opting for Luis Suarez

This is funny b/c Liverpool is already saying this isn't true. Dortmund already said him and Hummels are not for sale anyway. Interesting b/c Reus is a midfielder who can play winger not a true striker to fill the void left by Suarez. Already crowded midfield would be extremely crowded.

The Daily Star is reporting that striker Connor Wickham has rejected an improved three-year contract at Sunderland. The striker's situation is reportedly being monitored by Leicester and Southampton.

ruh rooo, they can not let him go.

Welcome to Tuesday's live transfer blog and we begin with a line for Manchester United fans: the Daily Mail is reporting that United have decided not to pursue a move for Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal with Louis van Gaal turning his attention to other targets.

They want too much for him anyway.

Sky sources are reporting that Edinson Cavani has instructed his agent to investigate a potential move to the Premier League.

The 27-year-old Uruguay international joined Paris Saint-Germain from Napoli for around £55m last summer and signed a five-year contract, but now appears keen on a move away from the French capital.

And the news will be of particular interest to Chelsea and Manchester United, who have both been linked with the forward.

Do not want esp if he will have an absurd price tag.

Please no, this would ruin his development and career. He would never see the field other than playing vs lower epl teams and some carling cup games. City just trying to meet their English quota.

just for the record, 34m isn't too much for arguably the most complete midfielder in soccer, especially in this market. you guys would be crazy not to snap him up at that price IMO. especially considering your financial prowess. better value than Shaw or Herrera.

Why would the club make a statement they weren't interested in a player? Clubs rarely do that without a reason for doing so.

Regardless, not a chance in hell we get him.

City have already spent their transfer budget this window. Only way this happens is if they sell Yaya, which would open up some playing time. I doubt Yaya leaves this window though.
