all the reports today are saying alexis sanchez and debuchy are close to be being done just haggling over fees. would be worth the wait. also, we're still targeting a holding mid and back up GK but nothing is close.

Khedira and Schneiderlin would be lovely. I'd also like them to target a young CB with upside, trading Sagna for Debuchy loses that CB cover

Arsenal are in talks to sign Barcelona forward Alexis Sanchez and Newcastle right-back Mathieu Debuchy.
Their move for 28-year-old France international Debuchy is at an advanced stage but the clubs are yet to agree a fee, with Newcastle understood to be seeking a figure in the region of £10m.
The Gunners' bid for Sanchez is complicated by Barcelona's pursuit of Liverpool striker Luis Suarez.
Barca are reportedly seeking a fee of at least £25m for the Chile striker.

And although the Gunners have been given indications that Sanchez would favour a move to Emirates Stadium, nothing will be resolved until the Suarez situation is concluded.
Meanwhile Juventus are also thought to be keen on the former Udinese player.
Debuchy would replace Bacary Sagna, who left Arsenal to join Manchester City.
Should the proposed £10m transfer go through it would double the Magpies' money on a player who joined from Lille for £5m in January 2013.
Arsenal are also in the market for a holding midfielder and back-up goalkeeper.

Leeds are looking for reinforcements in Italy. As reported by Manuele Baiocchini, the negotiation with Catania to acquire Giuseppe Bellusci has slowed down. They have reached an agreement with the club, but Spolli’s injury and the economic request of the player temporarily interrupted the negotiation. They still intend to close the deal, the contacts will start again in the next days.

Caballero to City is done according to Cope.

AS says fee will be just over £6m, could rise to £8m if Willy is successful. Zuculini loan unlikely to be involved, but friendly could be.

Having watched Hart, I say it's only a matter of time before he does.

More seriously, I think he's being brought in mostly to push Hart to stay in form, which was definitely a problem last year for them. Though maybe Willy may get the Cup + CL games and leave league matches for Joe.

Well, Costel Pantilimon looked better than Hart and got several important starts over him at times.

We shall see if Brendan gets his man.. Dejan Lovren..

quote:

"At this point, I don't know what I'll do and I don't like it. It was unbelievable that a few days ago I had an offer of 20 million pounds. It was in the morning and by the afternoon the club had said I was not for sale. Frankly, my head is already at Liverpool."

He said he had addressed a letter to the club to make clear his feelings but no longer knew who was in charge of such decisions.

"Honestly, I don't know who the main man at the club is anymore," he said. "They are now looking for 25 million pounds, but I don't think they'll get it."

He added: "Liverpool is one of the biggest clubs in the world. Only Real Madrid have as many fans around the world. The last time I played at Anfield, I got chills when I heard 'You'll Never Walk Alone.' I would like to listen to it all the time."

Can't really blame Southampton. They have been raided this window.

yeah I don't, but ~£20mm is good business IMO... plus I'm sure they want some of that Suarez money..

I dont blame him either, chairman gone.. manager gone.. best players gone..

quote:

"Look, I'd gladly stay in Southampton if the club had any ambitions, if they kept the key players," he said. "[If that had happened] not even the Liverpool bid would have dissuaded me."

He added: "When I decided to go to Southampton, many people were surprised, but I went because the people at the club had great ambition. They gave me assurances about the project -- the former chairman, Nicola Cortese, and the former coach, Mauricio Pochettino, convinced me. They gave me incredible confidence.

"When I began training there, I realised they had a very good team. They promised to buy two more players -- they bought [Pablo Daniel] Osvaldo and [Victor] Wanyama. They are great players. The aim was to qualify for Europe, to get into the Europa League at least."

I'll also add that if we're willing to pony up £20mm for a CB, there are plenty to be had.. I hope we don't get tunnel vision on this like Lallana..

I realize Luiz's sale may have skewed the CB market a bit..

A lot of our LFC Twitter ITKs are begrudgingly saying that Ryan Bertrand for £6mm is looking likely...

Dude what are you upset about a Chelsea player who moves to Liverpool automatically improves ten fold immediately upon signing. We're probably looking at the next Roberto Carlos.
