Celtic goalkeeping news:
Looks like Zaluska is heading to Maccabi Haifa. This means we'll be out of Polish keepers
Craig Gordon's being brought in on some sort of "fitness" contract. Whether he's Forster's replacement remains to be seen.
Looks like Deila wants to bring in his old keeper (Ghana's first-choice keeper).

you worried about barça or RM for Suarez? barcastuff has been tweeting a lot about him lately...
I can certainly understand not wanting him to leave and getting one year of CL football from him, but 70m is hard to pass up.

I would prefer Barca over RM...
Honestly, I would be happy with Sanchez and cash... Then I would throw that at Juventus for Vidal..
I wouldn't do what Tottenham did and fiddle frick around bringing in 8 players.. I would want 2-3 world class players.
I think Sanchez would flourish given more freedom in Rodger's system

Must have cheated and put himself there, I've offered them £120mil before and it was rejected

i'd like sanchez too, but the prevalent rumor i've seen is Sanchez + 30-40m for suarez. not sure you guys would get vidal...he's too high in demand IMO. RM or PSG would certainly snap him up first. i don't think spurs necessarily had a terrible plan. they just didn't buy well. though, some of those guys might come good eventually. plenty of really, really good players to be had in the 15-25m range.

I've seen sanchez and as much as £68... I would not be happy with 30-40...
I don't necessarily believe the 68, but I could live with that deal.. IMO, that would be what I'd value him at... Slightly more than RM paid for Bale..
Yeah, Vidal would be a dream, but if we stumped up enough you never know... I don't have a great feeling for our transfer committee, they have made some iffy buys and we've been linked with some average players... That's why I'd prefer to sign a couple of big names with the money we'd get from him and continue with the rest of the transfer plans with the money FSG give us this summer

I have been awoken with a text. Yes, it's from the Sun, but...

quote:
New Parkhead manager Ronny Deila is a huge fan of 23-year-old attacking midfielder Diskerud.
He failed in a bid to lure him to old club Stromsgodset two seasons ago.
And SunSport can reveal that the Rosenborg Trondheim ace — nicknamed Mix — was also on Celtic’s radar under Neil Lennon.
Now they could even get their man for as little as £250,000 as Diskerud’s contract with the Norwegians is up in December. However, Celtic will face stiff competition from Bundesliga side Werder Bremen, who are monitoring Diskerud at the World Cup in Brazil.
Diskerud qualifies for the US through his mother and was given Landon Donovan’s No 10 shirt by boss Jurgen Klinsmann.
He pledged his future to them after playing for Norway at youth level and has 20 caps.
His father Paal, also his agent, he said last night: “I don’t want to comment on speculation regarding other clubs. I also don’t want to say whether he’s been offered a new deal by Rosenborg.
“But I will confirm Ronny tried to sign Mikkel when he was on loan to Belgian club Gent from Stabaek.
“I know Ronny and there were discussions between us about him going to Stromsgodset at that time.
“However, Rosenborg was better for him economically.”
Diskerud came close to moving to Portland Timbers in the MLS shortly after joining Rosenborg.
Celtic were already aware of him having scouted the 6ft youngster when he emerged as a 17-year-old with Stabaek in 2008.
He has developed a reputation in Norway as a player who thrives on the big occasion, and he scored in the Norwegian Cup Final last year.

Ugh please don't go to Werder Bremen, such a trash club.

I agree. As good as he's been, Barca's style just doesn't really showcase Sanchez's best attributes.
How brilliant he was for Chile against has been the least surprising thing from this WC since was like that all the time for Udinese. It's mainly his ability to make amazing play after play on the counter attack and quick transition game that can separate him from other top strikers.

I agree, and think he would be the perfect replacement for Suarez (though not like for like)... and it would allow Studge to play centrally, since Alexis is comfortable on either wing... I like his work rate, too..
Him, Sterling and Sturridge would be scary on the counter...

Just like for any other team, it will be tough... Hopefully, Coutinho is more consistent this year and will help pick out that key pass...
But, we also need to defend better because we were susceptible to the counter ourselves last season and on set pieces..

going to Celtic is a lateral move in terms of competition
