if your logic is "we have to many creative midfielders, no need for cesc", fricking sell them! only ozil is a better player. if you're telling me rosicky, poldi, santi, etc are keeping you from buying cesc, i'm going to think you're insane. arsene's lack of ruthlessness is hurting us again IMO. not only are we weaker for not signing him, chelsea are going to be significantly stronger. just shitty.

eta: i just highly doubt we're going to use those funds elsewhere. other than benzema, if suarez goes to Real, and maybe Balo, we aren't in the market for a hugely expensive striker from all i've seen. a top DM and RB and GK won't cost that much, especially since it seems we're going to get Aurier who isn't too pricey.

if the Ucan rumors are correct, that is an insanely high amount to pay for a fringe player.

10 million Euros for a guy who barely played this year?

If that figure is correct, I imagine it's 75% performance clauses that could be paid down the road.

However, Roma DS Sabatini seems convinced Salih Uçan can be world class and has been working on getting him for a full year now. Fenerbahçe certainly hasn't let him go easily.

It's been an odd saga to follow on Roma message boards for the staggering amount of Turkish fans visiting the board to talk about Ucan. There's been a running joke of "Turkish Pogba" .

I'm starting to think that Arsene doesn't want to have depth in the midfield so that he can have a built in excuse every year.

Ucan had a lot of hype heading into last summer with the youth World Cup. He didn't do much there and he was much worse in the league this year. I'd say that was due to the new manager not rating him as highly but both guys are pro-youth, pro-attractive and attacking soccer. If he can't get minutes for a guy like Yanal who is considered the man who developed Arda Turan and Caner Erkin, I don't see how it will happen at Roma.

I've only seen him play at Youth WC so I really don't know a lot except that his lack of minutes at Fenerbahçe seems to be a huge point of contention among tons of Fenerbahçe/Turkish NT fans.

However, even if this deal goes through, I think both Ucan and Leandro Paredes (who Roma bought during the winter window and loaned to Chievo and many think is perhaps more "ready") will be given the opportunity this summer to make the squad behind Pjanic.

I'd guess one of those 2 will likely go on loan and if neither seems ready Roma may have to get another midfielder late in the window.

He makes way too many turnovers for my liking. Takes tons of high risk /high reward passes and shots on goal.

We won the league a month before the season ended and scored 15 more goals than anyone else so I can't find too much to complain about when it comes to Yanal, although I have always been a fan of the guy. If turkish fans were reasonable, he could have stayed in charge of the national team for a much longer stretch, and he's the first Turkish coach with the intelligence and disposition to be able to succeed in Europe.

In that case, it may be that Ucan can seamlessly replace Adem Llajic's contribution if he's sold this summer.

With all the money you guys saved on not buying back Cesc, you buy a small village of French teenagers.

True, but I prefer taking a chance on a guy like this than fricking Owen Coyle.

Looks like Craig Gordon's going to be his first signing. Probably means Forster's away...

ETA: Also a rumour that Bojan's scheduled for a medical tomorrow.

Tottenham have allegedly offered Sevilla £15M plus Soldado on loan and Capoue's rights (retaining 50% if sold).

What in the actual frick. Liverpool could screw up buying a snickers bar.

Sky Sports has a resport that refutes this:

quote:

Tottenham have no interest in Sevilla left-back Alberto Moreno, according to Sky sources. Reports in the media on Wednesday claimed Spurs had made a £14million offer for the defender, who is also wanted by Liverpool, with striker Roberto Soldado moving to the Spanish club on loan as part of the deal. But Sky Sports understands that no such offer has been made, and Tottenham are highly unlikely to let Soldado, a £26m signing from Valencia last summer, leave the club on loan.

I think that would be optimal. Let him get a season in the PL if they don't think he's ready to be called up to the Bayern first team yet. Tottenham catches a lot of shite I feel like but they're still a quality team IMO.
