Greek forward. Looks a little like Jesus.

I'd add Joe Allen and Cou to the list of good signings. Kolo served his purpose as a stop gap. Borini is brilliant off the ball, and his loan spell did him well in working on his finishing. By all accounts Llori is going to be a star in the future.
I think Sakho was a great buy and after a year of settling in the league and fighting off injury, he will be solid next year... and Mignolet was a decent buy, about what everyone expected when he was brought in... but not a huge upgrade over pepe (who's time had run out at the club)..

WhoTF is this? A Greek player?
Greek forward who played for Celtic. Great guy, but infuriating. Has great matches (ex: Barcelona), but is normally completely useless.

Samaras been so good in a lot of higher profile matches for Celtic and Greece the past couple of years.
Seems his best may come out when his side is at a disadvantage against a better side?
Works hard and is very impressive at still being dangerous even when left stranded.

That would imply that he's normally good in Europe. He was absolutely terrible this term in Europe and against Juve last year. There is no pattern or logic behind Sammy's great matches. They just happen.
That said, I still love him for his love and service to the club and for being a great guy.

Medhi Benatia: he's more than taken De Rossi's usual place as Italy's leading transfer drama / rumor mill of the summer.
Benatia arrived in Roma yesterday to meet with Roma DS Sabatini. Leaving the meeting, Benatia addressed a throng of Roma fans who had gathered to support him saying "don't worry, I'm not going anywhere"
This morning Sabatini held a press conference where, among other things . . .
he referred to Benatia's agent as a "jester desperately in search of a royal court"
He said Roma is not looking to sell any top players and a lot more depth is needed for CL and challenging Juve.
When asked if any offer would be entertained for Benatia, Sabatini said "Benatia's weak foot is worth €30m so it'll take at least €61m to get our attention"
Seems a jab at Man City since their transfer budget is supposedly €60m

Tottenham are not planning on making any bids for Southampton's Adam Lallana, according to Sky Sources Tottenham have been linked with a move for Lallana following the recent appointment of Mauricio Pochettino at White Hart Lane, but it appears there will be no bid from Tottenham for the England international. It leaves the path clear for Liverpool to sign Lallana with the Reds having already made a £25million for the attacker.

Dandy is there anything to the Varane-Chelsea link?

I´d imagine so. In Spanish press, he´s quoted as ´no comment until after the WC´.

Well let's hope it'd be the first piece of positive transfer news I've been truly excited about in some time.

Manchester City have emerged as Arsenal’s biggest rivals for Cesc Fabregas, according to the Daily Mirror. Barcelona are prepared to sell the Spain international for £30million and a return to the Premier League is expected. The Gunners have first refusal on buying the midfielder but City are reported to be at the front of the queue of interested clubs, which could also include Liverpool. Manchester United have been linked in the past but are said to have gone cold on him now Louis van Gaal is in charge.

The Daily Mirror also writes that Manchester City will try to persuade Frank Lampard to break his promise to never play for another Premier League club. Lampard is out of contract at Chelsea this summer and Sky Sports sources revealed yesterday that he had held informal talks with Major League Soccer franchise New York City. His future remains uncertain, though, and it is reported that City are hopeful he will sign a deal that will improve their English quota.
