Whatever happened to the Jay Fernández or Martínez or whatever his name is? Wasn´t he purported to be, sometime back?

If he does indeed sign with us, I'll assume he knows he's behind Luis and Daniel in the pecking in order... and maybe have a last chance to play in the UCL at 32 yrs old...

He's a WC player so I doubt he checks his ego this just doesn't make any sense.

I agree and with his age, I would assume he wants to play every game...

That said, he's a scouser and lifelong red... maybe he wants to fulfill a dream... I dunno.. or maybe its just a fabrication of the media...

In my mind, the only reason he moves is for the chance for CL football. I don't really see a scenario where get gets significant starts or playing time....unless pool were to go with 3 strikers

Antonucci is 30yo and a career Serie C/B guy who had a fantastic goal scoring breakout only this year. He played for Torino when they won promotion. He's a pacey right winger, support striker. Good with the dribble. Kind of a lesser Alessio Cerci. Smart player that could help but no world beater.

Pavoletti I've only seen a couple of times. He's younger (24 I think) and more a tall, physical CF. I don't know too much about him.

Ibarbo is a project that always seems ready to breakout based on his physical tools (huge and fast) and good technical skill but at 24yo it's getting to be high time for him to put it together.
His skill set and physique are made for the EPL if he starts actually scoring instead of just looking promising.

He hasn't scored often for Cagliari but when he does it's often on highlight reels due to him either bursting past a complete backline and firing in a screamer or just bulling off defenders like Lukaku and curling in a perfectly placed strike.

i vaguely recall him playing in colombia watching the libertadores. seemed like one of those "work hard for the team" types.

what we really need are some creative central midfielders in the worst way.

What kind of cash splashing is your new owner going to do?

Further to Rakitic. Catalonian sources say RM has dropped out and have admitted that ´Atlético are the front runners´.

This I think is just a matter of time. Will almost certainly happen as Juve doesn't want him moved to an Italian competitor.

As I was saying a while ago, Man City or PSG are the only ones likely to offer a price Roma would accept.

As it stands so far though it's not close to a done deal. If Man City offers over €30m it may well happen.

Any talk about Llorente´s summer in Italy? In Spain, it´s a pretty sure bet he doesn´t make La Roja (unless Costa´s a scratch at the last minute). Would this surprise anyone in Italy (well, maybe exclusively Turin)?

I love the guy, hate for him what happened in Bilbao (and how that inactivity affected his entry into Serie A).

I don't know that it would much of a surprise to anyone due to his "fit" in Del Bosque's tactics. I've always liked Llorente a lot but he's never really looked a perfect mesh with La Roja's tactics. He is playing as well as ever after he got all the cobwebs off.

It kind of surprises me that Spain would take a chance on Costa though with the way that injury keeps lingering and flares up when exerts 100% in matches.

I guess the idea is have him and hope he's better for knockout rounds but still it seems a strong concern of wasting a sub in the jungle heat.

Roma have rejected a €22million (£17.9m) offer from Manchester City for defender Mehdi Benatia, according to Gazzetta dello Sport. Roma reportedly want €35million (£28.4m) before being in a position to consider selling Benatia. The Daily Express, meanwhile, claims Chelsea have hijacked City's move for Benatia after offering Roma £18m plus striker Romelu Lukaku.
