How is it any more absurd than what we are going to pay for Costa? A guy who has scored more than 10 goals once his entire career? At least Luiz has had several years of high level performance for clubs and country and can play multiple positions.

Seems I was pretty wrong about Benatia.
He had a mini meltdown to the press after meeting with Roma and not securing a significant pay raise.
That his rant included the lure of "huge clubs" like "Monaco and Man City" probably means Roma won't pay what he's trying to get.
It's not that he couldn't still stay since he's under contract until 2018 but a majority of Roma fans are infamously unforgiving and are already piling on him.

He was unsettled all year plus his dad got sacked in-season, couple of projected transfers fell thru...i think with a fresh start he can get back to form. Id be all up on him if i was stoke, leicester, southampton, sunderland etc

Yeah, I wouldn't have been opposed to us signing him a year ago (could have been no worse than Moses), but now feel we can do better... Im not sure he'd settle for being a squad player for us now, anyway... He'd turn into Scott Sinclair 2.0...

Watching him play right now in the Toulon tournament against England... He is paired up with Doria in Brazil's defense... What a CB pairing in an U21 tournament and probably the future there for Brazil... Doria even looks better than Marquinhos.. I'm sure he'll be in Europe soon..
