Id rather buy an 18 year old than a 29 year old Leighton Baines. This is thinking long term. The discussion went to shite about him in here when the 50 million number was thrown out there.

I think if you can get him from 20 mill or lower you snatch that up yesterday. 30 -20 million you still do it, but its one of those transactions that can make a manager look really good or like a fool. Anything higher than 30 mil you start looking else where.

it's crazy nearly to the point of suspicion that Chelsea has been able to get that much money from the sale of Mata, Luiz, and De Bruyne, players that Jose clearly didn't want.

the only possible, logical explanation for that fee is that they're getting Hazard too and theres some FFP rule that makes it better to sign both for 50m instead of 60-70m for Hazard.
