If he does go, Barca would be surprising simply because they so desperately need a CB due to not matching outrageous offers for them the past couple of years.
No news, but I´d imagine Barça wil go after Laporte as well. He´s pretty expensive, however (€36M).

Maybe Barca have learned their lesson
If they'd have paid for Thiago Silva instead of more attackers they would likely have won the league since then and maybe another CL.
I think it will take an offer greater than the €32 million PSG paid for Marquinhos to see Roma sell Benatia since he doesn't want to leave and just signed through 2018.

I'm not sure why Rodgers and FSG didnt listen to me last season and summer when I was pushing him to replace Carra (and Skrtel)... MAY have been the difference this past year.. Oh well

He was so good at Udinese. It was surprising you never heard much about him moving until last summer and even then Roma was more often criticized for replacing Marquinhos with him.
He had been a "proposed signing" for many Roma fans for a while too since he was fantastic every single match we played against them.

The only possible knock I could think was he was used to playing in a back 3, but even that's a reach...

rumors are manu has offered Southampton close to 50mil for Luke shaw.
Also, Louis van Gaal has a war chest of 250mil+ to buy.

Of course he feels slighted, none of the players at City have any respect for the club. They know they can rape them for more $$$. Glory whore clubs like city have a team of hired assassins, none have loyalty to the club, just the cash. They know they can pull this every year and the whores will pay their price.

more rumors

In fact, according to another Star report from yesterday, van Gaal is only marking a measly four players on the current squad as completely essential: Wayne Rooney, David de Gea, Juan Mata, and Robin van Persie. That means even the likes of Danny Welbeck and Michael Carrick, along with the entire remaining

I think that those figures are quoted in $
That would be the 30 million GBP that has been thrown around

50 million? Christ. Just offer 50 million to the open market and see what player you can get.
Posted on 5/21/14 at 6:59 pm to stlslick
so basically there will be some great bargain poaching from the manu roster

Not sure why everyone is laughing, you know English players are always grossly over priced. And teams continue to pay it.
A LB, who's young, and looks to be a real goodin? And English? U payin if your an EPL power!

If that price is in dollars then it's still overpriced but given the reasons you just stated its understandable. If you're talking 50m pounds for Shaw...then the other teams should stop trying bc Man U can clearly afford to go Galacticos level spending

Hopefully Monopoly or Greek Dracmas.

Because he is 18 and played for a mid-table team. Baines would be a better buy, hell so could Gibbs.
