as someone else put it, the last two signings are "grayson-esque"
i lowered my expectations when we couldn't scrounge up 400k to sign joel ward.

It's sad, S. If these types of signings are indicative of this summer (and there is no reason to think that they won't be), I fear for the future of our club. What a disgrace!!! MOT.......LUSC!!!

Pearce was a positive long term signing. I think Drury was more of a "cover your arse signing" and Green was decent. We will see wjat else Colin does...

A deal to bring Peltier to Leeds is believed to be close, though much depends on United’s ability to pay a fee in the region of £500,000.

Paul Connolly’s departure from Leeds United looks likely to be delayed after the defender underwent surgery on a hernia.

The YEP also understands that Billy Paynter – another of United’s transfer-listed players – expects to report back to Thorp Arch for the start of pre-season training on July 11, with a view to fighting for a place in Warnock’s plans.

Meanwhile, Leeds have signed Republic of Ireland youth international Eoghan Stokes on scholarship forms.
Stokes, a 16-year-old striker, is joining United’s academy from St Kevin’s Boys Club in Dublin.

Leeds are rumored to be interested in Lee Peltier (again) but will not be able to make the alleged 350 fee until after the takeover (see investment) is completed.
Also rumored to be in for Nottingham Forest captain Luke Chambers with Ipswich Town being our main competition for his signature. He is officially out of contract today.
Takover news is supposed to be done and announced early this week :fingerscrossed:

im putting my money on no later than tuesday. chambers would be a shrewd signing. as it stands we can't come up with 350k for a player

Don't know much about Chambers other then he captained the perennially underachieving NFFC. Our D is looking nice though, wonder when we will start over hauling the midfield (and attack if we lose McCormack)?

richard keogh, luke varney, david norris and luke chambers are the latest targets. supposedly very close on varney. chambers' move to ipswich fell through and keogh is said to want to join. also close(r) to signing kenny (meh)
eta- bolton have bid for lonergan. i rate him more than kenny but kenny is one of neil's boys. whatever.

Adam Clayton sold to Huddersfield for an undisclosed amount. Thought a bigger club would be in for him, oh well. See you in 3rd Division very soon Adam.
Hopefully this means we are bringing in Peltier, Varney, keogh, and Kenny... but I may be too optimistic.

If we sell Snoddy, there will be an army of pissed off Leeds fans at the doors of the club offices. With Macca more than likely on his way out, we are going to be in dire need of goal scorers if Snoddy leaves. I've heard and read all sorts of rumours about possible acquisitions but who knows what is factual at this point. MOT

Saw that coming. Apparently, Varney is on his way. Pompey United, anyone? On another note...Happy Birthday, Don Revie, who would have been 85 today. I remember the day he died like it was yesterday. One of my enduring memories. MOT!!!

yep, looks like pompey is now our feeder club. still wish we'd have gotten ward though drury is a pretty good signing who knows what it takes to get promoted.

Looks like Varney and Kenny will sign this week. I think we keep hold of Snoddy, but McCormack is gone IMO.

Paddy Kenny has signed with Leeds United on a 3 year deal for an undisclosed amount.

meh. at least it's finally done.
would rather have rolled with lonners.
now if we can flip lonners for a decent fee (more than what we paid for kenny) like we did with schmeichel i will be content.
