2012 Leeds United Summer Extravaganza Thread

So, as we bid adieu to the 2011-2012 Championship season, we Whites are left feeling hopeful as well as dismayed. When Simon Grayson was sacked, Leed United were 3 points out of the playoffs but sorely lacking in defense and talent. Enter the (2) Neil's (Redfearn and Warnock) who had their ups... and mainly downs. As we sit at 13th in the Championship with one game left (H vs. Leicester) we are left to mull what could have been, yet again.
ON TO 2012-2013 I SAY! And with that, lets look at the (possibly) promising Summer of 2012 transfer window. This comes with, as in all teams, rumors and innuendo, secret sources, and a friend's brother who is flatmates with Robert Snodgrass' one night stand from Saturday.
With that lets see who may be leaving after which we will see all of the rumors that are starting.
Leed United Rumor Mill (Week of April 23rd Edition)
Out of Contract Midfielder Sammy Clingan of Coventry City
Midfielder Paul Green of Derby County
Defender Jason Pearce of Portsmouth <-- being reported by DailyMail as done deal.
Out of Contract Forward Ricardo Fuller of Stoke City
Alleged 1.2 Million bid for Attacking Midfielder Guly Do Prado of Southampton
Out of Favor Midfielder Michael Tonge of Stoke City
Possible One year Loan offer for Midfielder Wilson Palacios of Stoke City
Alleged Undisc. Bid for Midfielder Chris Cohen of Nottingham Forest
Possible 250k bid for Defender Adam Barrett of Bournmouth
Rightback Luke Young of QPR
In closing, Ken Bates has come out and stated that the squad is to large (30) and wants to streamline down to (23). He also stated recently that he isn't keen on "hurriedly signing" knee jerk replacements. So we will see how this goes along with Warnock's expressed desire to sign early and strengthen quick.
Stay tuned. Later this week Warnock is going to announce who his "Outs" for the Summer of 2012 will be (allegedly).

started supporting them a long time ago and haven't stopped. same thing for goose and RR i think.
calitiger and baloo lived in leeds for a while, i believe.
my leeds threads on the msb helped create the soccer board

Your defense needs to be addressed in the offseason.

Most hated owner - check
Most hated manager - check
Most hated player would only be natural... didn't Warnock call Diouf a sewer rat about a year ago :crawfishin:

Heard Bowyer was released by Ipswich. But Alan Smith has another year on his contract at Newcastle (I think). I would take Bowyer if his wages were reduced of course.
Yet Bates has said we are going forward (not backwards). He said this when asked why Leeds didn't bring back Beckford both times he was offered this season.

Warnock had already made formal offers to White, Snodgrass and Clayton and he intends to sit down with McCormack and his agents this week.
Warnock's retained/released list is due out next Wednesday.
More rumors:
Charlton Athletic interested in Billy Paynter (want him at a cut price)
Leeds United may look to bring in Attacking Mid/Striker James McFadden from Everton
Striker El Hadji Diouf of Doncaster Rovers said to be in talks with Leeds
Also Leigh Bromby (who was rumored to be in Warnock's first team plans for 2012) has no time table for his injury return and likely won't be back at all next year.
