Great game to watch. After an abysmal first 60 minutes Tevez breaks through with a deft touch. Adebayor was absolutely atrocious. Slow, no pace, no work rate, terrible touch, no help in the midfield. I will be pleased if he doesn't see the field for a long time. Mancini makes the positive move and brings silva in and it pays off immediately. It's like night and day when you have someone who can control the ball and distribute in the midfield. Quality goals from blackpool. Hats off to them for a good clean game. I like their pitch and look forward to them staying up. Silva turns blackpool defense inside out for a goal. Again, great game.

I only got to watch the final 15 minutes, but Blackpool was class, and I will be looking for the Tangerines to continue to be a presence in the EPL
No surprise that Adebayor was terrible. When has he not shown that? He's obviously lost all footballing touch, or at least the ones required for the EPl. He's slow and has lost height on his jumping and heading ability. Silva came in and played tremendously. That goal was pure class.

I have a soft spot for Blackpool ever since I played 3 seasons of Manager Mode with them in FIFA10. They're fun to watch, and I root for them when they aren't playing City.

Our offense looks so much more creative when Silva is on the pitch. And Adebayor can go to Juve or wherever he's looking at. He's horrible and hopefully he won't see the pitch when Super Mario comes back.

It realy was. Citeh's defense is the best in the EPL and they were tested today. A great match to watch and Silva is the creative spark they need to make a run for CL status this season. Adebayor was so lazy today it was appalling.

Tevez is a beast. Can't decide if he's better than Drogba (probably not). He's my favorite player by far.

Why did he cut his hair? I liked him better when he looked like a wild, crazy-eyed Aztec Indian. I keep waiting for him to pull out a stone axe and beat some poor Liverpudlian to death.

Right now he reminds me of "Caveman Lawyer" with that hair.

I agree. Tevez is great at hustling and creating goals by himself. Drogba works better in traffic and sets up goals for teammates as well.

Also, their size makes a huge difference in the way they play. Either way, they both are excellent finishers.

I think you're dead on.

Tevez is great at taking the ball from midfield, and creating goals for himself.

Drogba needs service inside the box, but he's an unstoppable finisher when he gets it. It's difficult to do, but you can minimize his effect on a game if you cut out his service (like City did in their match).

I'm pumped about the Europa Game tomorrow. Should be an interesting lineup, considering we play Arsenal sunday.
quote:

Lech Poznan will be trying to forget about their domestic problems when the Jekyll and Hyde Poles pitch up at the City of Manchester Stadium on Thursday night.

They might be arriving as early Europa League Group A leaders - unbeaten in two ties - but Poznan face the threat of a relegation battle back home after visitors Zaglebie Lubin left with the points at the weekend.

Matensz Bartczak scored the 74th-minute goal that sees the wilting champions tackle City from third-bottom spot in the table and facing a tough trip to our old friends Gornik Zabrze in their next league game on Sunday.

It's not going much better for Salzburg, the Blues' final group port of call in December, who contrived to lose at home for the first time this season in an increasingly poor Austrian Bundesliga campaign.

Salzburg dominated the game but were eventually condemned to a 2-0 defeat by a 92nd-minute strike by KSV Superfund's substitute that left their exasperated coach, Huub Stevens, lamenting a "disappointing performance."

He admitted afterwards: "We could have played on for two hours and we would not have scored. If we took two steps forward in the last game, we took three steps back today."

City's only European rivals making hay are Juventus, who have rejuvenated Alberto Aquilano following his disappointing form for Liverpool and swept to a 4-0 home win over Lecce in Serie A.

Aquilani, whose loan spell could well turn into a permanent transfer, was one of Juve's scorers along with Fabio Quagliarella, Felipe Melo from the penalty spot and veteran star Alessandro del Piero, who came off the bench.

Aquilani's resurgence in the black and white has even sparked talk of a call-up for Italy as Juve climb to fifth for a Scudettto challenge.

Drogba is also much better at set pieces than the Argentinian Tasmanian Devil.

I'm hearing we might play Tevez tomorrow. Initially Mancini was gonna give him the night off, but he's concerned about Jo.

Well.

BTW game is at 2:05 central time tomorrow. I haven't found it on TV so may have to post links tomorrow. I don't expect Kolo or tevez to play. Kolo has an injury and will be rested until the arsenal game IMO. I expect to see silva and AJ.
