Agreed.

Wed be kinda fkn stupid to not consult with the Ukrainians on drone warfare when were sending them all this stuff. No other country can match their drone warfare experience per capita.

Right. The Iranians have been giving the Russians these same drones for awhile now and the Ukrainians had to develop a means to combat them that did not cost millions of dollars per shot.
I wonder if Trump will be able to work a deal here to deescalate the situation in Ukraine and also get interceptor drones from Ukraine.

Which leads me to believe that the Iranians are being pretty pesky with their drones at the moment, at least enough to warrant us looking to Ukraine
Did we not stockpile a shite ton of these beforehand knowing Iran's drone offensive capabilities?

I am wondering if he is going to make a deal that forces Russia into a ceasefire here. The US can both leverage the energy markets and also cut off Iranian arms shipments to Russia. He can agree to sending more arms to Ukraine (putting the Ukraine bros in Congress in a bind) and force Russia into a ceasefire while also bringing in Ukrainian anti-drone technology and expertise.
He may not have even wanted to stockpile these interceptors beforehand if this is his play.

I thought a deal was already struck with Russia to allow Ukraine security.

It's now being reported that the Pentagon is trying to acquire said drones. Dumbass.

Where's the American drone industrial might in this case? I can't just believe that Iran's drone capabilities must be so far advanced than anything that we have

It will be a huge failure if we lose this war to bullshite drones after watching how effective they have been in Ukraine.

Again, I think the play here is to work both the Ukraine/Russia war and the Israel/Iran war from the middle to de-escalate both of them. If that's the case, this will have been strategic. It's not that we don't have the tech to handle it ourselves, but instead an engineered lever point that allows him to achieve multiple objectives at once.
3D chess, if you will.

I watched part of a Petraeus interview the other day and he spent a lot of time emphasizing this. The economics are completely asymmetrical with our conventional interceptors blowing up their little drones. A few million dollars per interceptor vs. <$50k per attack drone. Ukraine is also the world’s leader in output by far for interceptor drones. Thousands per month versus only a hundred or so per month Raytheon makes for us currently. Ukraine also has a lot of skilled pilots now from the war. So laughing at this is kinda dumb. We should absolutely use Ukraine’s expertise and supply for this.

I read a day or so ago where Zelensky was trying to broker a swap with the US and Israel. He was eager to trade Ukrainian interceptor drones, which they have plenty of, for larger missile interceptors, which Ukraine desperately needs.

Right. He said as much just today.
