It’s absurd to attack the workers who are being screwed by the shutdown. There’s a lot of outlandish supposition and projection in the OP

How much do you think some of these people make?

Call a plumber and guarantee he will get his money sometime in the future and see how that plays out.

He'd still be pissed if you told him he was working without being paid.

You think income is unrelated to budget?

You have to be basically retarded to ask this question.

No, I’m trying to understand what their salary/wage at their federal job has to do with their preparedness for a period without income. If I make 2k a month I can still find a way (provided I’ve been in the workforce for a while) to save a few months bill and grocery money. I did it when I made less than any of these workers.

You don’t think people with low wages can over time build an emergency fund? Ever heard of a side gig, tard?

No, bullshite that they aren't getting paid. Some are getting overtime as well.

That's good. A willingness to learn is always welcome.
Where do you suppose they get the resources to build an emergency fund?

Damn that’s sad. You can collect that much pocket change in 12-16 months

How did we get here as a society?
Posted on 1/24/19 at 7:47 pm to Jake88
Are we not talking about the fake scenario where a plumber and federal employee are comparable?
