Obama took over during an economic crisis and the administration's policies largely revolved around reviving banks and business entities, not putting more money in the pockets of the average American.
A more stable economic climate + More disposable income = More purchasing and investing power
Anyone with any sense (which admittedly excludes many liberal pundits) saw better economic data coming from this administration than the last.
