Y’all remember when income tax was supposed to be temporary?

nothing is temporary to the government when they are stealing your money. Once you let the fox into the hen house, you ain't getting him out until there isn't anything left.

And it was only supposed to hit "the rich" (1% tax on income equivalent to $80k in today's dollars up to 7% on $12mm+ in today's dollars). This is the first thing I remind people of when they start talking about a wealth tax.
