What "people on here" understand is Trump underwent withering, scurrilous, contrived attacks, and still had to be taken out by a crooked election. There is no guarantee whatsoever that DeSantis can withstand and come through that kind of attack. So backing BDR is a crapshoot. What "people on here" understand is the MSM (aka Democrat War Room) will go after BDR with the same venom and viciousness they directed at Trump.

We will see (maybe...if he runs).

I don’t think that DeSantis gets attacked to the degree that Trump has been (and continues to be).

I believe that he will get the Romney / McCain treatment, then “lose“ to Gavin in a close one.

Then the tards on here will claim that the election is legit and “We will get them next time!”

Simply put, you can’t fix stupid (RINOs), but I firmly believe that in the USA, you CAN fix elections.

Of course. But, he's open to it and anyone who gives a frick about how DeSantis voted on it after a decade will know that.

Your point was stupid.

I'm not sorry for calling attention to that.

What people like you do not understand is that NONE of that makes a difference.

What people like you do not comprehend is he has no message to get new votes. He has lost millions of voters and will not get them back if there is respectable conservative opposition.

A good conservative will stomp the democrat nominee.

Trump will lose.

I keep hearing this, but I don’t think this is true.

People will vote for Trump again. Especially if it’s between him and POTATUS.

It’s the cheating in swing states that makes the difference.

This is exactly right.

GA, AZ, and PA would all have republican senators from this election had Trump stayed out of the races.

They should have looked at Eddie Rispone's campaign before they decided embracing Trumpism was the best political strategy.

Republicans have won one presidential election since 2004. This is pure fantasy.

Yup. Trump has made himself unelectable. Women and independents are not voting for him. If he’s the ‘24 nominee, we lose. If he’s not the nominee, he’ll go rogue, burn it down, and we lose.

There are no good paths forward that involve Trump. Many here refuse to see it.

The GA runoff just killed that theory.

The dems have not had such a weak lineup previously.

Nobody really likes Biden and they loath Harris.

Hell the only "independent" that might vote for Newsom if he were the candidate is his former wife, the gold digger attracted to political power, Kimberly Ann Guilfoyle.

They would all have Republican senators if DC respected the will of their voters and whole heartedly backed their own candidates in extremely close races.

Instead, right in the midst of the campaign McConnell said the candidates sucked. His own party's candidate, not the Democrat.

This was the problem.

McConnell and DC knew if Masters, Oz and Walker won, Trump would emerge more powerful than ever.

They were not going to let that happen since the overriding mission was to rid the party of Trump.

So they sank their own candidates and threw the whole mess at Trump's feet.

That is the problem but keep telling yourself it's Trump.

wrong---the Georgia runoff just proved that even with a horribly flawed candidate as the alternative a significant number of people would not vote democrat.

Which part?

Are you that naive?

McConnell dumped $10 million in Alaska on a race a Republican was guaranteed to win.

In the middle of the campaign, not after, he said the Republican candidates sucked.

They have TDS. Everything is about Trump.

My post is spot on and you know it.

You don't know jack shite about politics.

Yes, they will. Myself included. But that doesn’t mean anything. He has to continue to grow his voter base. I’m not sure that he can. One of the things that is glossed over is that Trump managed to piss off enough voters that he lost states the he won in 2016. How does he win them back while also making sure that he gets enough Republican voters that don’t like him to hold their noses and vote for him a 3rd time? If he can’t do that he’ll lose and there will be down ballot losses too.
