re: Would more people have lived if hospitals weren't so quick to put them on ventilators?

When my 79 year old dad came down with COVID I immediately took him in for monoclonals. I made sure that he listed remdesivire on his chart as a drug he is allergic to.
The doctor saw it, kind of laughed and said, “don’t worry, we will keep you out of the hospital”.
After monoclonal treatment my dad was cured 48 hours later.

some people who may have lived otherwise?

you said he had asthma, and had covid, that's it.
You got it.
You say we like you were there. Sounds like you yourself made the decision to put people on ventilators.
Seems to me that you may be dealing with a guilty conscience.

Sounds like you get your medical expertise from watching TV...
You're still not telling me how sick your friend was or what his condition was at the time they decided to intubate him...
Like I said earlier, you would make a terrible Dr.

WTF are you even talking about... You sound very simple...

Tap dance all you want, people know what happened.

Two... Only because I was exposed to it everyday on the job...
How many did you take since we're now asking people their medical history..

Make cute statements all you want... Now go read up on all the stories where vents saved people's lives..

You say we like you were there. Sounds like you yourself made the decision to put people on ventilators.
Is that definitive enough for you?
They were placed on vents for unsurvivable hypoxia, or a combination of hypoxia and related oxygen delivery issues. Refractory asthmatic bronchospasm would fall in that "related" realm.

... read up on stories where vents didn't kill people, you mean.

Some folks will always try to rewrite history.

That's easy to say when when you're not exposed to it everyday on the job... Dealing with the sickest of the sick....
Would I take it now knowing how it's treated differently and the virus evolved where it's not killing its host as frequently? No way...

You have no idea what I was exposed to.

No I don't, but what ever it was it must've fried your brain...
