The bigger question would be why would we still be talking about it?

Lets say a friend holds a gun to your head, pulls the trigger, and the gun misfires.

They say "well anyway"

You say "hey motherf***** you just tried to kill me"

They say "why are you still talking about it"

That's why

While I believe that 99% of the problems within the black population is related to the black culture (not dna or skin color) it's a huge stretch to suggest that this explains some of it
.

You're correct on the culture front. I believe DNA effects emotions. Most feel guilt if they're not contributing to the tribe and fear ostracization if their not "pulling their weight"

With government assistance programs there is currently no need to plan for the future.

Act like a jackass, contribute nothing to your tribe, yet somehow still recieve all the benefits provided by those that work hard and plan ahead.

What's the motivation to change?
For thousands of years, Europeans would bake in the hot sun cutting wood so they wouldnt freeze to death.

Have to ration food even when there's an over abundance. Unsure how long the winter will be.

Got to build the shelter strong to prevent the winter from blowing it over. Don't want to die from exposure.

The northern Europeans couldn't walk a little north or south to avoid the winter, the European had to plan for it.

10 years ago I was in a trailer park attending a bbq/housewarming party.

I had one broken leg propped up in a fold out chair when we heard the dog attack start down the street.

I got up and started crunching towards the fight. I was told to stay out of it due to my injury. Plenty of other men there that would handle it they said. I complied until a woman got attacked trying to get the pit off her dog.

I saw red.

That scene ended with the owner of the pit begging me not to finish her dog off.

I don't believe I would have complied if the pit was attacking a kid...

broke up with a girl in college because she told me she had a 3 way with 2 dudes years before meeting me. Couldn't get the image out of my head.

That happened to me as well.

She bawled as she packed her things. Saying she was just letting me know she would do anything for me.

I was also bothered by the fact a local plastic surgeon paid her very well to lay out by his pool.

Flashing check engine light is for a cylinder misfire. Theres nothing wrong with the rings.

Go to an autoparts store and buy one coil for it, watch a video on YouTube on how to change it.

Keep your money.
Ah! Learn something new everyday. I was going to say don't get Goodyear, didn't realize they made Kelly's as well.

I had a set of goodyears ONE time.

Got so many flats, I kept a plug kit and an air compressor on that truck
I've ran two sets of them in the last ten years. For me they weather check early. (cracking in the sidewalls) Long before the end of their tred life.

I have a bunch of rigs though and none of them get a ton of miles over the course of a year.

I have Hankooks on several vehicles and absolutely love them.

Kinda blows holes in your "we only did it as a last resort" assertion, now doesn't it?

I have a lunch to attend, have a good one.

you said he had asthma, and had covid, that's it.

You got it.

You say we like you were there. Sounds like you yourself made the decision to put people on ventilators.

Seems to me that you may be dealing with a guilty conscience.

It's a restrictive disease, if you put them on positive pressure ventilation it can be counterintuitive.

Thats my point...

You need to give more details, not simply because he had asthma...

The guy had bad asthma our whole lives.

He went to the doctor with covid. The doctor decided he needed to go to the hospital.

The hospital put him on a ventilator and put him under for a month. He got much worse during that time.

Doctors said there was nothing else that could be done, pulled him off, took him off all the drugs and rolled him on his side.

Two weeks later my friend walked out of the hospital.

I don't know what other details you're looking for here.
A classmate and friend of mine in his late 30's got put on a vent early because he had asthma.

They took him off it when his wife decided to pull the plug and let him die.

He then made a full recovery.
Covid is why I'm here. Whatever OMLandshark has to say on the subject, I support.
Huh, guess I learn something new everyday.

As to why, where I grew up we had 1 tv with 3 channels. We weren't close to anywhere.

We would see the sky turning black, turn on the TV/radio, not a word mentioned about it. Storm would roll through and the sky would clear before we would hear- seek shelter from this dangerous storm!

The old timers that told me about heat lightning were the same ones telling me when to start looking for arrowheads when plowing fields.

Figured they knew everything.
Several years ago I was eating at a Hooter restaurant. (Not my idea)

Huge guy sitting at a table and was there for the scenery. Must have weighed 400 pounds. Absolutely disgusting person.

He starts digging in his ear with his finger, stops, get out some car keys, jams one of those in there and pulls out this huge chunk of ear wax.

At a restaurant, with people trying to eat.
Yesterday my dad started talking trash about Trump. Him and my mom watch CNN all day since he retired.

I felt bad when I asked him to name one good thing the Biden Administration has done for the American people in the last 3 years...

Unfortunately these days helping out your fellow man can just as easily land you in trouble than not, so it happens less and less. But there are still good people out there that care.

Good on you for helping

Years ago I was driving down the highway in a thunderstorm. Went by a car with a flat tire and 2 people sitting in it.

I came back around, went up and knocked on the window. Looked like a mother and daughter sitting there with no clue what to do. They were terrified of me, locked doors and windows up. I laughed and said pop the trunk.

I changed that tire in the rain and told them they were good to go. Guess they watched too many horror movies or something.

I didn't even get a thank you.

Help when you can

I've got a couple up the road that are approaching the end of life.. The husband won't make it through this year.

His wife has been mowing the yard and trying to take care of their pool and struggling mightily.

I drove by yesterday and saw their zero turn sitting out in the middle of their 5 acre lot. I stopped to take a look and realized she had a broken belt. I went to town, got a new one and put it on without her realizing it.

I drove the mower back up to the house where she came out with tears in her eyes. While fighting them back, she asked what she owed me. No charge was my response.

She latched on to me and started bawling, telling me she couldn't do it anymore and they were moving to assisted living. She couldn't have been more grateful for that small neighborly gesture.

It only took me an hour and less than 50 bucks to make her day.

If you can help someone in need in your community, the little bit of time and money is absolutely worth the payoff.

Have a good weekend.
