It comes down to finances.

If they bring in the same revenue or more than the men’s team they should make a compensation to reflect that.

Right now it seems that their accomplishments while great, do not reflect financially what the men’s team brings in.

It is all about how much money you bring in.

A value judgement is not meaninful when determining the monetary worth of someone. That accounts for those that want to give them equal pay...and those that don't think they deserve it.

If women soccer players want to be worth more, they actually have to be worth more. There needs to be a professional league that pays a lot of money...and can do so because of fans support...so that the national teams have to make it financially make sense.

If there is money to be made...or money to be lost, these women will have more opportunity. When that happens, they are worth as much as they can get. I support them in that effort.

So the market set the pay for congressman and police officers? I'll hang up and listen

You do realize that the Women's team THEMSELVES negotiated and contractually agreed to their current pay, right? The government and/or USA soccer didn't just arbitrarily and unilaterally determine the salaries. The players are bitching about a salary structure THEY contractually agreed to in the 2017 CBA that runs through 2021. They are now asking the courts to force USA soccer to pay them MORE than they, themselves, agreed to accept to play for the national team.

Like any negotiation, they could have walked away in 2017 if they did not agree to the terms. Simply put, they didn't. That's because playing for the national team provides them with their highest salary opportunity even if it's less than they arbitrarily think the "deserve". They have no significant market outside of the national team.

It all comes down to $.

FIFA revenue for 2018 men's world cup is around $6 billion. FIFA revenue for women's world cup is expected to be around $130 million.

and the player cut of the revenues for the women is 13% as opposed to 9% for the men....Lionel Messi gonna be pissed.

Also, the men's team played a nationally televised final for the Gold Cup last night. When was the last time a women's tournament was nationally televised other than the World Cup every 4 years?

Why would any soccer be televised nationally in the US? Its a silly sport....but when you are selling shite the more people you can sell to the more valuable you are....and it seems the numbers suggest the women have more followers than the men and therefore should be paid more....in the US it seems womens soccer is more popular thane mens

When it comes to sports, men are superior athletes, thus pay will be different..

False.

While men may be better athletes, that's irrelevant. Men are paid more because of market forces. More people are willing to pay more to watch men. Sponsors pay more to the NBA than the WNBA because there are more viewers. Now that may be in large part because the men are better. But ultimately it's because of market forces.

Like teachers being paid the same as police officers and fireman. That's just ridiculous. One of those 3 jobs doesnt put the person in danger 24/7

I think you could have chosen some different occupational comparisons. Some might argue in today’s age teachers actually do put their lives in danger on the job. Not saying I agree but there is an argument to be made.
