Ron has tried this and I believe this isn't even Rand's first attempt to get this bill through. Nothing will happen again and it likely won't even make it out of committee.

Here's my question: to what end?

I think there is a solid chance that the fed is a fraud perpetrated at a scale so grand that it's beyond the imagination of most average people.

But that said, say you audit it and find out that it's a sham. Our entire system crashes, the global economy fails and billions suffer.

So again, to what end? What is the alternative?

It can be replaced sustainably, but not overnight and not without a hell of a good plan and a planned demolition as opposed to shoot first and ask questions later.
I would trust Rand with that knowledge and to make the right decision. I hope he chairs the audit and gets to pick who helps him. A little extra budget to help with the investigation.

You know it son. REC won't allow this to see the light of day. You will find yourself under scrutiny just for posting in this thread. I would stay away from stairs for a while and send a large "mea culpa" check to the North River Yacht Club with "TD incidentals" in the payment for line. They will know what it's for.

I can respect the fear about what would happen if the fed was suddenly destroyed, but I also believe that if this were to happen it would only be possible in the kind of circumstances in which such a fear had already been realized.

Effective at what?

Do you think this audit the fed shite would have happened if not for papa Ron's decades of pushing for it? Rand just has the baton now. It's not a matter of effectiveness.

Ron and the work that he did has grown the libertarian ranks dramatically, and even after he dies his "failures" in legislation are going to be referenced and used as a baseline by the Amash/Lee/Massey/Paul types who follow him.

I don't see Rand as 100x more effective than his dad. If anything, Rand benefits from his father's effectiveness.

Quick question.

Is the 16th Ammendment unconstitutional?

Meh. Even if it was, nobody will care. Many of the first 10 amendments are shat upon every day. The government isn't exactly policing itself on those.

Fair enough.
But, people work with Rand and he works with them. Nobody would work with Ron due to his principled stubbornness or lack of politics.
Massey has introduced this in the house, and I strongly believe this has a chance to pass.

If Trump will sign this, the swamp would drain with the quickness.

I will shite a brick if this works. It will be an outstanding accomplishment for Trump. One of his upsides is that he DGAF, so I can see this happening.

This could be a real Andy Jackson presidency We will have to take the good with the bad.
