I mean yes, but not really. The inability of people to actually follow the exchange is absurd.
Kaine: Can the president delay an election?
Pompeno: I don’t know and don’t want to give a legal opinion on the spot
Kaine: Come on, you’re a highly decorated attorney, give us your opinion.
Pompeno: I’ll leave the legal opinion to the DOJ and others.
All he did was punt on giving an actual answer. If Trump did try and do that (which his tweet alludes to nothing of the sort), the DOJ would be the ones to determine the legality of such actions, would they not?

Different circumstances. POTUS has Stafford Act powers currently. And if they have evidence that China loosed that virus intentionally (they do), his powers become even more vast.
If that virus was an intentional attack, all bets are off and we essentially do have a "dictator" if POTUS decided to become one. It's actually a little frightening the expanded power he has right now. Thank the Democrats for that.
These conditions won't be met any time again soon, although I understand and take your point.

We’re not buying conspiracy theories like MAGA does. We will sit back & wait. Then if no election takes place on 11/3 we’ll see how peaceful those protests are.

There are a lot of articles on this. The left started in a panic months ago. A lot of articles I found behind paywalls.
Politico goes on and on about this..
LINK
They all basically say Congress decides not the President. So this Pompeo thing seems like a stretched rumor. (Pompeo probably said I don't know ask the AG)

He did. Watch the exchange. I simplified it in my post above.

As someone else pointed out, POTUS could declare it so and then it would go to the DoJ to determine whether or not he had the authority to do so.
I like POTUS' chances in that scenario, actually.

It's not like he's the one demanding everyone, everywhere, stay in their houses. Nor is he generating mass hysteria, basically telling people that they will die if they go outside.
If it's that fricking bad... then the presidential election should be postponed until the Democrats let us know that it's safe to go out and vote.
Mass scale mail-in votes are too easy to frick with. It would take months before the mail-in votes are completely counted anyway. Final totals will probably arrive in March or April. Then the inauguration probably won't be held until around June. shite will already be delayed and pushed back. Might as well just do an actual postponement until people can go out and vote, and skip the mass scale mail-in shite.

I wouldn’t and we don’t need it to.
Pure conjecture on my part, but I would think that a push to delay the election would be required to implement nationwide mail in voting. This puts a big constrain on the feasibility of implementing such a thing by October.
