Its more likely that Trump heard jokes and rumors like everyone else in that circle, and didn't really believe them (or didn't want to) until the MAL incident.
I posted in response to the notion that Trump dumped Epstein as soon as he got (and I quote) "a whiff" of Epstein's predilections. Clearly, that is not accurate.

Why would it be a problem? Its clearly stated by the FEC that its legal.
