That should scare the shite out of anybody no matter who’s in charge. Whether it be Biden and his spend spend spend mentality or Trump and his cut taxes and just put it on the card mentality, both sides are driving this number up more and more and neither wants to do what’s necessary to fix it. Cut spending drastically and yes collect taxes to pay it down.

We obviously are going to need more taxpayers.

First step is to staunch the bleeding, which means to cut unnecessary bullshite from the budget.

If/when the government shows restraint in non-necessary (military) spending, I will be OK with mild tax increases.

Spending like a bunch of drunken sailors and raiding shite that is supposed to go for other important uses are why people don’t want to increase taxes ever.

Can you imagine how few votes a politician would get by running on a platform intended to pay the national debt?

Yet debt per citizen is only 91,429. Not enough makers in this country.

But, calculated 30 yrs forward, with 3% inflation, that's only $97,000!

So I guess we've got that going for us.

Exactly.

So the obvious solution is to open the southern border to uneducated illegals who primarily work physical, manual but mindless jobs and pay no taxes while creating a larger tax burden on the USA.

It's fricking brilliant!

Ok cool you are just as much a part of the problem a those on the left. We have to stop the spending and then you would be okay with ahem mild tax increases. Keep watching that figure tick upwards, I’m sure your kids will be thrilled with you putting the countries spending on their backs.

Is this before, or after, the $40 billion to Ukraine?

I guess. At least now we can acknowledge neither the left nor the right are fiscally responsible at all and both just want more debt.

You need some overall lessons concerning economics and the size of wasteful government.

But keep sending them money. You'll feel better about yourself.

Ahem… frick you.

Tax increases would ramp up over time depending on how reliable the government stays.

If you give them a ton of money at once, they will find a way to spend it on hookers and blow rather than pay bills.
