Will Senate Committees be divided 50/50 in the incoming Senate?

I remember they did this the last time the US Senate was split evenly.

Supposedly. And the last agreement made it so control and positions could still change if the composition of the chamber did.

Which it did when Jim Jeffords (Pussy-VT) crossed the aisle.

SHOULD they - yes

WILL they - probably not as long as the Lib's possess the deciding vote.

Will it matter - nope, uniparty with the Libs +1

It may not matter. It will allow the Republicans to slow things down, as a 50/50 committee vote on legislation or a nominee will have to be voted on by the full Senate before it can move out of committee. That may not sound like much, but the if the Democrats insist on ramrodding things through, the Republicans can slow progress to a crawl and make it extremely difficult for the Democrats.

This would also showcase to the American public that the Democrats are not compromising on the agenda, even with a 50/50 split - if all of the votes are split along partisan lines.

The opposite of this. Tie votes in Committee will all go the floor.

Schumer has demanded that the Senate agree to the 2001 rules during the last 50-50 Senate when the chamber's committees had equal representation of both parties, and tie votes on legislation and nominations would go to the floor.
McConnell signaled Monday night he would agree to that as well.

No because there are always several Rhinos like Romney voting with the Democrats.
