Saw Trump talking about payroll tax cuts and economic stimulus funds to try and shore up the damage being done by coronavirus.

With interest rates already low and the deficit already over a trillion, how high will our deficit end up?

I think over / under should be at $1.7 trillion.

It POTUS says $2 Trillion then Chuckles the Dim Senate Clown will say $8 Trillion. All because, you know, Dims are the fiscal policy wonks and stuff. Dims will approve 4x what is needed then blame R's for the deficit.

Republicans are just as bad at running up the deficit.

Neither side can pretend to white knight this issue anymore.

Yep. It's really the only issue I care about and neither side seems to care. If we bail out a shitty non-essential industry like the cruise lines I'm going to lose it.

Rand Paul asked to offset $8 billion for Coronavirus funding with other cuts and his amendment got shot down. We are addicted to spending.

"We" aren't addicted to anything.

Most of the voting public is though.

I'm pretty sure 1/3 our the federal governments receipts are from payroll taxes. This would never pass but lol that'd be hilarious. It funds the entitlements so they'd either have the Fed monetize it or would reduce and extend the appropriate retirement outlays.

If they’re gonna run up the debt at least do it cutting my taxes. Unlike Obama blowing our tax dollars to enrich his buddies.

Over 2T. It will never be addressed. Eventually we will run out of steam and collapse.

This is how a constitutional republic dies.

It’ll probably take another 100 years so yeah... fricking cut my taxes and let assholes down the line deal with it.

Probably. Trump gonna come out with massive bailouts now to help industries before the election.

Don't worry about money at that level. We can print as much of that shite as we need when the time comes.

I don't think this is really fair. The Republicans are really good at running up the deficit, but not as good as Democrats.

That's fair.

I was way off. Latest projections are $2.4 trillion this year and that's pending any more stimulus measures.

Democrats didn't start a 20 year war that's accomplished nothing.

Not entirely false but don't act like this isn't anomaly spending.

Do you really want shite to break all the way down right now?

I've got all the guns, ammo & food I need to last this out. 80%+ doesn't. I'm not sure I'm ready to start killing hungry Americans, yet.
