Why so many Americans freaking out about a royal wedding?

The woman is not even in line to become Queen consort. Her marriage has no bearing on any American except probably her immediate family who now have a stake in some immense wealth.
In a year or so, she'd just gonna be some royal not in line of succession who you'd normally never hear about, off doing royal things. Except the MSM will highlight everything because of her race.
For people wanting to supposedly eliminate racism (which it is, the racism the left makes to be a big thing is only on the fringes of society), the left sure likes to make everything about race.

Nah, I was deployed at the time, but it makes a little sense because at least Kate will become queen. Markle will just be some rich princess who won’t lead a nation. Her royal duties will be to occasionally smile and wave.
This is the future king’s brother’s wife. It’s a big deal solely because of her race.

Do you honestly think the average American has the vaguest of ideas as to the actual power structure and line of succession of the British royalty?
It's being pushed as a big fricking deal because it's a British royal wedding and because the bride is an American. Sure, the fact that she's not 100% Caucasian helps, but I think you're dead wrong if you believe this wouldn't be getting wall to wall fanfare even if she were lily white.
