Because it’s a non starter. Libs have brainwashed themselves into what the meaning of fair share is.

If they tell them the truth, that the poor pay almost none of the taxes in this country, and the top 20% (or whatever it is) pay everything, they’ll look at it as “defending billionaires”

They’ll also swear up and down that Elon and Jeff Bezos could “cure the debt if they weren’t so greedy” not realizing them being worth X amount doesn’t mean they have that cash on hand

It’s a non starter. Deaf ears. Good move not to bring it up.

But the libs keep saying all they want to do is make the rich pay their fair share on taxes.

what do you expect. They can't prove it one way or another, but it sounds good doesn't it to the LIbs? These same people that are saying it, are doing the same thing as it relates to taxes because they are all rich...assuming they don't pay. Dems SAY what people want to hear, but offer no avenue to achieve those promises.

Everyone needs to pay INCOME taxes, if we are going to have an INCOME tax. PERIOD! Full stop.

Lower income people can pay $100 bucks but have some friggin skin on the game.

Why should our retired grandfather's who worked hard most of their adult lives, still pay income tax on money the govt took from them, and isn't paying it back equally to how they took it?
Why should servicemen who have served for their country and are medically retired for getting effed up, have to pay income taxes on less than what we actually owe them?

It's a populist talking point.

You see the problem?

Because half the libs have no idea that the rich pay more in taxes than they will see in 5 years of their lives, if ever.
And the rich libs are keeping their mouths shut.

I don't remember which "hip hop" stars it was that were arguing back in 2020.
But one of them said that he wasn't going to pay 1.5 million in taxes to put Biden in office. And then another replied she'd pay his taxes if he didn't vote Trump.

Speaking of...
Obama and Biden both fall into that label of "rich". Do they not?

The Billionaire's tax they've tried before. And we proved their motives for it. It was literally aimed at Trump and Elon.

I know for a fact Biden did, and has 4 years to go something. He hasn’t and didn’t intend on doing anything, it’s a talking point to trick low income voters to keep voting for them.

I don't have as much problem with some people paying an effective rate of zero. I have a huge problem with the child tax credit putting money in people's pockets way above what they had withheld and were refunded. In fact, you can get the child tax credit if you had zero income.

I do. People with little skin in the game make shitty voters.

What is a fair share?

IMHO, a flat tax is the only thing that is fair.
