Why is there no serious alternative to fb/twitter etc

Never understood with the amount conservative leaning citizens.. why there isnt a viable alternative. Shouldnt be too hard

In a word, morals.

Facebook and Twitter make money off of selling your habits, info, content, etc. IOW they're sleezy.

That and the base is the key - social media depends on there being a social presence, so as long as most people are on the other platform, no one uses your platform.

Because there is little revenue to be made in a truly free platform that doesn't work on data collection, marketing, and targeted information to modify your behaviors.

Since the Left typically have no morals to guide them on this, their approach lines up pretty well with extreme capitalism, and is therefore, more likely to be supported/funded.

People are too lazy to make a disciplined switch. It's just too easy to stay on the platforms that censor them.
