The answer to this question is always the same - always and everywhere.
There are two things required for prosperity: Freedom and the rule of law. Where there is no prosperity one, or both, of these is missing. In Russia’s case, it is a lack of freedom.

Some of the greatest minds in math, science, and art were Russian.

Some things never change
There is a reason the cultural content output of Russia is so heavily focused on metaphysical analysis of suffering and living in hell, and I say this as a person who has consumed quite a bit of Russian art and thinks Tarkovsky is one of the GOATs.

Probably cause of how big it is

What would Europe even fight for? The right to flood their countries with muzzies?
So they want to be just like Russia then. Russia is slam packed full of Muzzies and the crazy ones too. Putin wouldn’t have so much power if it weren’t for his close relationships with the crazy Muzzies.

Of all of the retarded things I’ve read on this website, this may be in the top 10. Your ignorance and lack of knowledge is startling. Tsarist Russia created some of the world’s greatest arts, culture, literature, and architecture. Read a book.
The great palaces of St. Petersburg are unrivaled in the world.

You should go visit places in Russia outside of Moscow and St. Petersburg. It makes all our rural shithole southern towns look like advanced and modern cities.

Muh, dictator. Not a free country. Good thing they have oil and natural gas gas or they'd be frozen with nothing.

Tsarist Russia was always considered the absolute backwater of Europe, and that view was for the Wester/European part of imperial Russia, ignoring the rest of that shithole.

I have no clue what point you are trying to make. There are impoverished parts of London and Paris. Do you include these peoples with the “white trash of the white race” as well?
Posted on 3/1/25 at 7:39 pm to SlowFlowPro
No, no it wasn’t. The Russian Empire pushed Napoleon back to Paris.

This type of stupidity should be studied at the university level.

Russia has bodies to throw at conflicts and unhospitable terrain for invaders. It doesn't negate anything I said.
They were always the laughing stock of the royal hierarchy in Imperial Europe. Always. Russia was barely even seen as European, and, again, that's the Western part of Russia.
Just because they always tried to copy areas of actual culture with "new money" like flashiness doesn't negate what I said, either. It reinforces what I said.

It's a similar economic theory that you see proposed by many "America First" types, especially with their redistributive wealth programs using tariffs to support lower level manufacturing that is not optimal in our current advanced economy. The plan there is also to devolve the economy and decrease SOL so that these jobs become somewhat more reasonable in the new economic paradigm.
Oh wow what a fricking stupid post

You could replace "Russian" with "African," and this would read the exact same as a Black Lives Matter person explaining that a certain place isn't as big of a hell hole as people think because they did math and science stuff there one time a long time ago.

The richest 1 % of the Russian population received more than one fifth of the national income, while enjoying favourable tax rates. Wealth inequality has also increased over the past two decades, with nearly half of the total wealth held by only 1 % of the population.
The number of homelessness in Russia is 5 million, approximately 3.5 percent of Russia’s population. Out of Russia’s 144.5 million population, 13.3% live below the poverty line.
