Yes. I'm sorry you don't understand politics.
Now what I am about to say I'm not discussing on the merits but rather on the basis of reality.
If Desantis wins the nomination he cannot win the presidency without the endorsement of Donald Trump.
This fact, and it is a fact complicates the DeSantis campaign tremendously.
It is also why I believe from a political standpoint it is a tremendous mistake for DeSantis to run against Trump.
Trump could run third party but it would not take something that dramatic to finish off Desantis.
Everyone thinks DeSantis is more electable because people that won't vote for Trump might vote for DeSantis but they give no thought to the Trump voters who won't vote for anyone else. Again I'm not judging this as right or wrong I'm letting you know this is the reality that the DeSantis campaign has to work in.

You aren't wrong about the most rabid Trump fans not being willing to vote for anyone but Trump. It is a huge concern of mine. The leftists most likely win either way. Trump will never win with suburban women and Only Trump people will stay home or vote leftist for spite.

ETA And BTW, that's an issue discussed constantly here, with some of Trump's bigger fans insisting that it's mostly not true.
