It's where urban message board people ultimately flocked.

College football message boards (especially pre-Trump) were where more conservative people had flocked prior to Reddit, funny enough.

Most subreddits aren't that political, though.

*ETA: Trump/MAGA did have huge subs prior to Charlottesville, right? I only do Reddit in small doses for specific questions.

That, and most political forums are actively cultivated and policed. Pretty easy to be hard left when they don't allow dissenting opinions that are to the right of the hard left.

Oh yeah their voting/karma systems create echo chambers.

Imagine if the up/down votes on here meant something

Yeah, I got banned in one post. it was very tame.

I'm a big fan of short Jung Quotes. I'm not smart enough to make it a philosophy.

quote:

“People will do anything, no matter how absurd, in order to avoid facing their own souls. One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious.”
- Carl Jung

Got banned for this innocuous post. I'm guessing one of these little soy boys figured out I was not approving of his/her/their statements.

They're a little more active than that unless something's changed. They'll just shut down a sub-reddit or ban people who don't think the correct way.

Same with Birmingham subbreddit...

1. Why is the rent so high?
2. Why is this state so backwards?
3. Why do I continue to live in this state I hate so much?
4. I hate virtually everyone

Almost everyone on there has made bad life choices and find themselves in their late 20s or 30s, with little or nothing to show for their working at restaurants and bars and wasting 1000s of hours on their iPhones for the last 15 years. They usually live downtown, get their cars broken into regularly, bitch about the landlord, and in general hate anyone who lives in the suburbs or is conservative.

I would really love to see the population breakdown and over-representation of this exact demo in these city-based subreddits

The Rediteers dilemma. .

Pay landlords or live like they were meant to live. Feral and loaded to the gills on fentanyl .

Depends on your definition of 'leftist'. Anyone on here that doesn't worship Donald Trump is considered a 'leftist' or a 'liberal' despite that not being true.

Congrats! You made the first completely irrelevant and unnecessary TDS post of this thread. Nerd.

Yep, you can bash Trump or Republicans and Conservatives all day, but if you you dare say anything positive about Trump, Steve Bannon or negative about Biden, you get attacked.

It is like they have a team of people just waiting to pounce.

Reddit is about to IPO. I don't know when and I don't care. IPO should be avoided like the plague.

They keep sending emails and private messages to anyone with a reddit account to pitch preferred stock, so either the plans aren't going well with the big institution investors, or they just want to pump and dump their followers. I think you are restricted on selling these pigs for 180 days, so you are stuck while the price falls to where it should be valued.

This has to hurt the parrots on here that keep saying that voters are leaving Trump, and that the college educated white kids are going to kill him again. New York Times poll. I don't care how many crackerjack white lesbians vote for Joe, it is not going to tilt the race.

If Joe can only keep 85% of his last vote he is looking at sub 70 million. Trump wouldn't even need their votes...they could vote for RFK or not vote at all, and Trump would probably win by 8 to 10 million votes.

It is funny, but until the last several years, I believed Bush was conservative. Boy, was I wrong.

Rush was sounding alarms on Bush in 2004. However he backed off which disappointed me greatly.
