Peak was going to happen regardless of any shutdowns, the virus had been around for months.

You are correct. BUT many consumers view these as two completely separate issues. Just because you reopen the economy doesn't mean it will return to the pre-virus level overnight. Not gonna happen. My guess is the group who has the most descretionary income to spend will be very slow to completely return.

The lockdown was a colossal screw up. It should have been a warning to those folks most affected by the virus. That's it. All we've done is delayed the inevitable while destroying the economy. And yes folks, some of that is on Trump.
